Still, as a Mac user I’m wondering if Apple’s upcoming switch from Intel to proprietary chips will make Waves jump to v11 prematurely.

That works even with Mercury. You can upgrade from Mercury to "Mercury + Studio Classics". While it's currently $253.89 to do the upgrade, when they have one of their 50% off promotions (which don't usually apply to WUP), it's like getting a one year WUP (plus Studio Classics) for $126.95. I haven't done it yet myself, so I am not sure if you can only do it once, or you can keep taking advantage of it over time. (In other words, I am not sure that upgrading Mercury if it becomes a single entry which is "Mercury + Studio Classics", or are they two separate entries in your account).
Yeah, until you do this.

I don't think there are any more bundles for me. That said, I only WUP when there are enough new stuff to make it worth it and when they do the annual WUP sale where I think it gets down to $225.

Isn't Waves' annual WUP sale = 50% price reduction? Shouldn't you pay significantly less than $225 during the sale?

If you buy WUP from everyplugin it is even cheaper.

It’s not 50%. It’s normally 25% or so.

Stopped waiting for a PA bargain and spent my voucher on Triad.

Does buying Gold reset the WUP for all single plugins in you account? I thought if you WUP a bundle, you don't WUP single plugins in your account, but only the bundle. I'm asking because of this:
it resets the WUP for the products included in the bundle! Go to the upgrades page in waves site to see if your singles can be upgraded to some bundle, and wait for some waves promo.

https://www.waves.com/account/upgrades
To clarify: if you _upgrade_ from a bunch of single plugins to a bundle, the bundle will have a year of WUP - and the licenses used for the upgrade will disappear from your account.

The WUP for other licenses (not used for the upgrade) is not reset, even if the product itself is included in the bundle.

Note that you can ask for the cheaper price for the upgrade from dealers as well.

Also be careful only to upgrade the licences you absolutely need to in order to get the discount. Often past a certain point, more licences checked in the upgrade interface don’t necessarily add up to more discounts

I stopped waiting yesterday and traded some PA plugins + voucher for someone’s Devil-Loc Deluxe. That new transfer policy sucks.

I'm selling my used voucher. It's totally useless now (unless PA effed up again) but hey I'm aiming my offer at people who would spend money on useless PA stuff

Waves already has plugins for iOS. So the v10 code base already has Arm compatibility.

The rumour is that switch will only affect low end notebooks for now. The high end Mac Pro and iMac Pro’s will still use Intel for some years to come. The replacement for the entry level Macbook is rumoured to be going with Arm.

My plan had been to hold out until July 31st in hopes of a VSM-3 deal before using the voucher for Triad, and then doing the same until August 31st before using the voucher on the DSP DSM V3 upgrade. But looking at last year, the lowest VSM-3 went during monthly voucher periods seems to be $79, and there was a sale this May on the "VSM-3 mastering bundle" for $69... that I passed on because I assumed there would be a sale on VSM-3 without the bundle that would be cheaper. Hmm....

I’m guessing we won’t see any sales from PA until the current promotion for the subscription plan ends - which will be end of August now. They’re trying to get as many people there. Once they’re confident they have all those plans set up they’ll probably start doing for more sales.

Yes, PA sales are fairly unlikely in the near future. I would also expect a change in voucher policy along with a second round of PA bashing next month. The old voucher policy is not really compatible with the subscription option.

Thanks for this information. Very useful indeed.
