Wait, seriously? People are getting banned over reporting legitimate issues they're having with their software?

Talk about questionable support.

Nope.

You know the deal. Guy gets banned, gets sore about it. Sees other people who got banned over "reporting legitimate issues", in other words, getting insultive and abusive. Guy posts on another forum about it, seeks sympathy, and like-mindedness. I've seen it at least a dozen times now, on several forums. Noone gets banned over reporting legitimate issues.

I don't even have to read or know about the specific issue. I know it's like i wrote.

Yep entirely this - Whenever you manage to track the post(s) that got the person banned it's always apparent that it's due to them being a dick.

You know, of course some forums are more strict than others. But, i haven't in my entire presence on internet forums witnessed something remotely similar to what's described in the OP. I have no idea why some have to twist reality in such a way. Sometimes i even think they believe themselves what they claim. Sort of like arguing with a Jehova witness.

Explanation attempt: Cognitive dissonance based on an inability to self-reflect, often paired with low self-esteem. (Keiner-hat-mich-lieb-Syndrom ;-)). They should correct themselves, they can't, so they 'correct' the reality. This often does not even happen intentionally. You can see that behavior pattern all the time in every forum.

Well, sometimes they are just dickheads.

I got a response from Cubase Support somewhere between 48 and 72 hours of putting in a request. I was just over at the forum yesterday evening, and it seems like there were plenty of people discussing “legitimate issues”. I guess I wouldn’t really know if those people get banned in the end. The exchanges seemed respectful enough on both sides, though.

Yes, that must be Apple's exclusive user experience.

Really, i don't know what to write. Just laughing here...

Nice piece of fair and unbiased investigative journalism you pulled from the deep ass of the internet there. :tu:

Yes. pretty much how Apple behaves on their forums thats how Steinberg forums mods behave on their forums.
there is even one user (at least one that i know) on steinberg forums with a username "PleaseDontBanMe"

I really feel sorry for him for having been bullied so much by evil internet forum mods in his life, so much that he had to pick a nickname like that. Those mods are the reincarnated devil really. Maybe we should fund a aid organisation for mod bullied internet victims.

What a wimp! It's much harder to call yourself "BanMe" and then behave so well that the moderators can't find anything to ban you from, even though they want to do it all the time. :hihi:

There was a guy years ago, Chris something or other that was a nightmare. I dunno if he's still around. I'm a member there and have not been bothered (even though I sold 9.5) so I dunno.

As far as a reason to be banned? I don't buy it. Simply catching someone who's ego is too big is enough for that
