Never cared to sell the previous iZotope versions, after the uppgrading. But because I have an advanced product outside the bundle, too, I have basically an extra MPS 1 for sale, at the moment.

So if I use Neutron 3 Adv, for example, to upgrade to MPS2.1, will I still have the the Neutron 3 Adv license to sell or does that go away because I used it to upgrade?mgw38 wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2019 4:16 pm The $149 are legit because they appear in the iZotope account as well. This is not completely out of character for iZotope.
They also seem to factor in that people can resell easily, so if there is an upgrade to a package you can always resell the licenses you have duplicate. I actually made money upgrading to MPS2.1. I cross-graded from PPS3 for an apple and an egg and then sold all the individual licenses of MPS2.1 products I already had.
But I do agree. As much as I like playing the bargaining game, I would very much prefer a consistent licensing system instead. Keeping up with iZotope is starting to become exhausting.

You cannot sell the one product from which you are up- or cross-grading. At least not for a while. After some time they lift that restriction. I usually ask them before I sell.yehboy1 wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2019 4:46 pm So if I use Neutron 3 Adv, for example, to upgrade to MPS2.1, will I still have the the Neutron 3 Adv license to sell or does that go away because I used it to upgrade?

They had it coming.Gamma-UT wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2019 3:52 pm I entirely agree with you. I was just making a joke about Izotope's consistently broken discount system.
This one's going to stay in my system for a while though. It came together in a very awkward way. I couldn't even give the sell to our dear UncleE for various reasons. It had to go through another dealer.
The bundle is very useful for people like me who need to process large sound sets on a tight schedule. But I still think they can do more to polish the individual products, especially Ozone. (resizable GUI ect)
I think the detection circuits on the various "AI" driven functions are narrowly focused on the most mainstream of tasks. Try them on short samples, or full length cinematic tracks with a wide dynamic range and you'll see what I mean. To be fair, this is also true for competing products from other companies. I have made a suggestion to Sonible about short samples and I'm told they will address it in the future.
Neutron 3 is the only plugin in the suite with a track length detection sequence, but that only applies to the track balancing function. I do like its spectral shaper and the unmasking functions.
I could go on and on about how many lost opportunities iZotope is leaving behind. Take BT and Iris, which are still unique in many ways today, yet sadly abandoned for no good reason.

iZotope policy, and sadly the company is not alone with that, is to abandon product after 2-3 years. I've got every single of these products, most of them are /have been really good. Only their major products will see more generations. Their flagship product is /has been the RX advanced, to which they put the most effort on.

Depends what you need. If you happen to have some iZotope advanced product, in my opinion the best path is MPS 2.1 by appr. $ 125.soundbylaura wrote: Thu Aug 01, 2019 6:24 pm I have a new client that's using RX7 Standard. I own RX6 Standard. I know I've probably missed great opportunities recently, but what is the best upgrade path for that right now?
But if you don't need all the other MPS 2.1 stuff, there may some better deals.

Ha ha, I knew people were going to be talking about iZotope. I don’t have any of the products to upgrade to MPS2.1, but they put the $149 coupon in my account anyway. I’ve been told, if it’s in your account and has a buy now button, you can buy it.
I wasn’t even particularly looking to buy it, but some of the bits are nice to have. I do echo all the sentiments regarding their terrible licensing and the fact that they dump and replace products rather than upgrading in place.
All those tracks you mastered with Neutron can’t be opened with Neutron 2 can’t be opened with Neutron 3 to take advantage of the new features. That’s gotta suck for people mixing big projects that they want to revisit.
