MAnalyzer: Spectrum appears delayed on high averaging settings

I like MAnalyzer a lot and it is very customisable but there is one thing I can't get to work properly. When averaging is set to very few milliseconds the spectrum appears immediately but it jumps around too fast to get a useful impression of the spectrum. I find it the most comprehensive with values from 1000-2000ms but in that case the spectrum on start of playback appears very slowly - when just playing back a short sound often it doesn't appear at all.
On other analyzers (for example Voxengo - SPAN) it works perfectly fine also with a high averaging setting of 2000 - the spectrum appears immediately when starting playback, moves smoothly and slowly decays when stopping playback.
With all the flexibility that MAnalyzer offers I am pretty confident that there is a way to make it work like the other analyzers - I would prefer to use it over other analyzers as I try to keep my plugins as much Melda as possible but because of this issue single I am having a hard time working with MAnalyzer.

Think about what Averaging does - it averages spectrum over a time period! So of course it is slow. Imagine a white noise (all frequencies) after a time of silence. Currently the average is "zero", since it was silent. Before the white noise starts dominating, it needs time, because YOU wanted that :).

Your other analyzers probably don't implement averaging (because it's more complex), but a simple decay. In MAnalyzer it is in analyzer Settings / Decay.

That was it, I just had to set a low averaging time and a high decay and with a little tweaking of the other parameters I got it to feel responsive as well as intuitive to read. With all the settings it offers I was sure that it's just a matter of setting it up correctly until it works better than any other analyzer!
