Why are MTurboReverb and MTurboDelay in MSF always consuming CPU power even when there is no signal passing through? Try it for yourself, watch the CPU meter in your DAW when not playing any notes in MFS and having MTD and MTR active, then bypass each module and see the CPU go down significantly, if you bypass both, there is no CPU load at all. Can this be fixed please?

In LogicX with a sample buffer of 1024 samples it's about 12.5% per instance.

I can confirm this too in FL Studio, some modules effects continue using cpu even when not in use, don't know why, would be nice some optimization on it.

I'm seeing about 0.75% (on an 8-core processor) here for MTR in MSF and for the MTR plug-in itself.

12.5% would mean very complex settings with a very old computer (and/or very very bad DAW), but anyways, it's actually extremely difficult (or impossible) to know whether there is a signal to process. I'm pretty sure other instruments/reverbs also process all the time. There could be a sort-of-optimization, that would wait for some signal, but that would actually consume more CPU, because it would need to test for signal existence all the time and once there would be a signal, you'd be in the same place, so it would be useful only if you didn't use it at all

Well it was 12.5% of a single core on a MacPro with 12 cores (ashtray model). So I understand that no further optimization is possible.

btw its good idea to switch off plugin when no input

or use host automation for that purpose
