Are there more than 2 yet? I have some space in my rack where it would fit the workflow nicely when they are ready. I recently picked up a Kenton CV-MIDI converter and have been controlling Hive and Zebra with my Metropolis. It made me think of CVilization.

I think we have about 10 around now, with I think 3 or 4 hardware revisions.

We're about to look for a manufacturing slot after maybe a few more tests.

Very cool indeed. No pressure; after the next round if you want an extra tester I'll buy one. Looking forward to it. :D

Also, I posted a new performance video:

Very cool, new bigger system. Some familiar faces, and some new ones too. What are the pressure plates up to? Been thinking about one of those. More specifically what do you use them for in general?

Awesome! :tu:

Hehehe, system-wise I live in a very comfortable situation. Instead of stuffing all modules into racks, I have them waiting in drawers. Whenever I have an idea for a modular technique, I go to Modulargrid and plot out a new system. Then I send the screenshot to my assistant. An hour later or two it magically appears on my desk. Hence, always one system, sometimes two, any configuration I want.

I have tried several modules aimed at live performance. Joysticks, programmable touch devices, MIDI Controllers. I always come back to Pressure Points, even though or maybe because they are the most simple solution. Maybe I'm too bad a performer to memorize and master complex devices.

I mainly use them for structuring. It's difficult to create traditional song structures like breaks, verses and so on in modular land when you only have two hands and the whole patch needs to be tweaked. I often create a minimal impression of that using transposition and sound changes. One PP gives me 4 presets for 3 control voltages to do exactly that. (admittedly, that doesn't play much of a role in this performance, the transposition is merely melody than structure)

As of recently I also use them for live knobbing. I use the first three plates for presets with fixed CVs while the rightmost voltages are reserved for live tweaking. This is what I do with the jazzy melodies/improvisation in the beginning (both operated by right hand). One knob controls Rings, the other knob pitches the main melody sawtooth oscillator. The left hand is on the filter cutoff of the sawtooth voice.

That is a very good reason. I was thinking about a Touche' in the same way... With the MIDI converter and the metropolis on Hive and Zebra, and also VCV Host so I can use CoCo (it belongs in the rack, best BBD on earth) Twangwtrom, Uhbik, and Zebrify we are well on our way to the Berlin Modular. I need drums, and move between Softube Heartbeat and Roland Cloud.

I have a feeling CVilization can talk to this stuff in ways I don't get yet.

Looking forward to it, thanks for all of that mate.
