Well, actually, in the wider world where we dont rewrite history according to the chk071-dictionary, they did, and are widely acknowledged for it. Electronic processing, tape manipulation, musique concrete, yadda yadda yadda. See 'Tomorrow Never Knows' and 'Revolution 9'.

OK, so, basically any rock band these days does "electronic music". Good to know. Always handy to have the online whyterabbyt-dictionary (a.k.a. Wikipedia) at hand.

Really? I would disagree with that myself. Wouldn't be another one of your usual big fat strawmen would it?chk071 wrote: Fri Aug 09, 2019 11:43 am OK, so, basically any rock band these days does "electronic music". Good to know.
Ah, that's right, you have a basic allergy to anything resembling evidence, dont you.Always handy to have the online whyterabbyt-dictionary (a.k.a. Wikipedia) at hand.![]()

Good. And i disagree that the Beatles are "electronic music", when they mainly use physical instruments. Actually, i don't even think i heard one song from them where they didn't, so, i really don't know what you're up to. Trying to prove someone wrong, i guess, your favorite pastime.
BRB, need to listen to the new single from DJ Paul McCartney.

Strawberry fields opening flute was made using a Mellotron which could be described as a rompler synth. (at a push - with a following wind)chk071 wrote: Fri Aug 09, 2019 12:35 pmGood. By the way, highly subjective I know, personal, do not quote me, I deny I ever said it, but Strawberry fields is probably the best pop record ever made.

And George Harrison owned a Moog Modular which made its way onto some of the tracks on Abbey Road (in addition to using it on his solo album Electronic Sounddellboy wrote: Fri Aug 09, 2019 1:57 pmStrawberry fields opening flute was made using a Mellotron which could be described as a rompler synth. Another strawman. You claimed they never did any electronic music. And yet they did.chk071 wrote: Fri Aug 09, 2019 12:35 pmGood. And i disagree that the Beatles are "electronic music", when they mainly use physical instruments.
Oh here we go again. You dont know a thing, but you're the expert on it ...Actually, i don't even think i heard one song from them where they didn't, so, i really don't know what you're up to.
What you, personally, have heard doesnt change anything. Revolution 9 still exists and is still musique concrete whether you've heard it or not..
Just providing the facts. I know how you hate them, though.Trying to prove someone wrong, i guess, your favorite pastime.

Sure... but... Beatles are no electronic music act... just like any band with a keyboarder in it isn't a electronic music act. At least in my book. Maybe humanity re-wrote the books in the meantime. Which wouldn't be a surprise for me at all.dellboy wrote: Fri Aug 09, 2019 1:57 pmStrawberry fields opening flute was made using a Mellotron which could be described as a rompler synth. Wikipedia, which seems to be the source of all wisdom in this modern world lists Beatles as a rock band, and that's what they are for me. Classic rock isn't about electronic instrumentalization. But, WTH do i know. I hate the Beatles.

So, the Beatles made electronic music. Even though they didn't. Unless a drum kit is electronic now, or a guitar, or a bass, or a human voice. It's irrelevant that they made use of electronic instruments, or other tech at some point, they're still mainly using physical instruments. Or whatever you want to call it in English, i don't know.whyterabbyt wrote: Fri Aug 09, 2019 11:27 amWell, actually, in the wider world where we dont rewrite history according to the chk071-dictionary, they did, and are widely acknowledged for it.

Doesnt matter whether they were 'an electronic music act', they dont have to be an electronic music act to do electronic music tracks.chk071 wrote: Fri Aug 09, 2019 2:05 pm Sure... but... Beatles are no electronic music act... just like any band with a keyboarder in it isn't a electronic music act.
For someone who posts on a music website, you sure have some funny ideas about music.

one reason stockhausen was featured on the cover was their interest in such work.
