This is not the case for all products sold via PIB. However, it's the reason why I am very careful buying from them. I now usually write to them before buying, just to check :tu:
I buy most of my plugins from PB and have never run into this. Please provide proof to this claim.

Are serials linked in Izotope's database to other information---for example, that they were purchased by [Person name] or through [Plugin Boutique], or other information like [special NFR]?

Not sure how they can stop people. They simply give you a serial number that anyone can register to izotope’s site.

Not sure where you got this. I have never activated anything on PB. They only provided me with serials (or iLok codes) that i activated elsewhere (mostly on the developers site).

PB can say that the Iris 2 serial is not for resale but they cannot really enforce that. the serial they provide can only be activated (registered actually) on iZotope's website, and it can be activated by anyone. Nothing ties your PB account to your iZotope account.

Same here... PB codes are entered into the corresponding website if needed (some don't need a code) - never had an issue with the codes and I have given a couple of redundant ones to friends without issues.

PB

Its product/brand dependent.

Before those few requiring proof (for f**ks sake) grab their pitchforks for el-bo...

This topic came up recently for FAW Sublab.
Gavin@FAW wrote: Thu Aug 08, 2019 8:31 pm Hey Aloysius,

We're on top of support requests and have a number coming in from people who purchased SubLab via Plugin Boutique but are looking for the download in an account they setup on our site. Plugin Boutique are sending out the links tomorrow from their site to people who purchased from them. Unfortunately, there is no account sharing between us and them. Let me know directly if this is the case via gavin.burke@futureaudioworkshop.com and we'll sort it out asap

Gavin.

So yeah, like he says in his post... He writes to PB before purchasing (because licenses are not all handled the same through PB).

So take it as advice, a shared story or whatever floats your boat.

Here’s the thing. There’s no place on FAW’s website to register purchases from other sites. That’s probably a good indication that they have a special setup with PB. Purchasing TAL’s plugins from PB also doesn’t automatically connect them with TAL’s database, but their activation codes work fine with any download from TAL’s site.

Websites that are set up to accept registration from vendors will almost always work directly on the developer’s site. I’ve done this many times with izotope, Voxengo, AIR, PSP, Slate, Waldorf, etc.

Those Reverb sales went quickly...

Odds are they were either single use deals or only a handful. I purchased a few deals a few days ago (unadvertised on KVR) and as soon as I purchased them, they were no longer in stock (i.e. Best Service Voyager Drums for $9).

I accidentally picked up Best Service Trinity Drums. Accidentally because I completely forgot that this is the same library than the Sonuscore Trinity Drums which I already have. I guess I panicked.

Edit: passed it on to another KVR member.

Just picked up Breaktweaker Expanded from Reverb for $9. They seem to appear and disappear randomly.

Got the upgrade to Ethno World 6 instruments and voices for about $7 each last week.

Waves stuff is appearing little by little now. Waves Element for $19 for instance.

Waves Signature Drum & Bass for $19:

I fancied that myself but I took too long listening to demo's before I decided I wanted it and it was gone, wanted the galaxy pianos too for £22 but missed it, best deal I seen so far though was D16 silverline for £33, if I didn't already have some of the plugs I would have gone for it. Still can't complain at getting Chris Hein bass for £16 as I was looking for an upright bass library

That's a great price for D16 siverline. I was about to post 3 other iZotope/Waves deals and before I finished, they were already gone...

I guess the rule of thumb for many/most Reverb software deals that are "too good to be true" is to get the item in the cart, buy it, then think about it... otherwise, odds are they'll be gone. (maybe it's not such a good idea... :) )

I actually had another iZotope deal in my cart and went back to switch my payment type and my cart was deleted and the deal gone:iZotope BreakTweaker Expanded (Student Discount) for $9).

There's one last iZotope student discount deal: iZotope Nectar Elements (Student Discount) for $9, but it's not as good of a deal as the other ones.
