Hi all,

is it possible to use a band of MoutoDynamicEq as a wideband comp? Like in tdr nova or IqEq v3?
I thought it could be possible with the all pass, but this doesn´t effect anything! There is no change at all using a all pass filter. Or I don´t understand this filter function!!

Is it possible and if not would be nice to use it as a wideband comp too.

No dynamics with allpass filter.
There is a hack you can try, set up a few bands using the peak shelf type set to full width. Set them in such a way that they do not overlap but also there are no gaps. By default they will only listen to the frequency in which they operate, however in settings you can change this behaviour, so that they will listen to the whole frequency range. This will make all the bands move together as one like broadband.

Well, you can just use say highshelf at 20Hz I suppose. Not sure why would you do that though, since there are specific plugins for that, called compressors

That’s correct, but you could save the compressor and do some compression and equing in one plugin. Works great.

Actually doing this using a filter will spend way more resources than using a compressor

. Assuming everything is optimized of course.

Maybe you could use MFreeformEQ or MFreeform Analog EQ as a tilt EQ. Would that work?

You can tilt with a high slope and low slope at the same frequency, use positive gain on one and negative on the other.

A seperate tilt filter would be easier and faster.

What about SpectralDynamics? It's like an "infinite band" compressor, with a draw-able threshold curve (freeform, or with nodes). You can even pick a curve, then move the whole thing up or down, and tweak the curve to whatever you need. It's like the absolute ultimate multi-band compressor. Or maybe we should call it a "bazillion-band compressor".
