If you refer to the Bell like patches using XMOD, this is sue to the reduced resolution of the DCOs and a similar effect is also audible in the hardware.Jbravo wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2019 3:04 pm I've finally got around to trying this and I really like it. I have a question though, why is the tuning odd? some notes in the scale are quite noticeably flat and makes playing chords quite dissonant. Is this an intentional artefact of Analog synths? Is there a way to minimize it?
thanks in advance!
Other sounds should not show this odd tuning.

Martin
well I'm scrolling through presets in the Kujashi banks, pretty much everyone has some slight tuning issues. One octave might be fine but then the next one up will start to go flat a few notes in
PG-8X (2.0) released

not sure why that dropbox link will not play, it should do if you paste it into a browser
the tuning doesn't seem to be affected by the octave stretch setting, I assumed at first that was the cause

I've tried a different bank and the tuning is fine, I guess it's just a problem with Kujashi banks which I believe were converted from an older version of the plugin, according to the download page on here

That might have fixed it, though the first 31 patches in the kvr_414571_6184_1522007599.zip still have the init patch sound. Might be an issue with the file, I don't know.martin_l wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2019 3:10 pmHi! It sounds to me that you have AUTO WRITE turned off in the Settings. In this case, the plugin emulates the behaviour of the hardware, where you need to explicitly safe the preset using the WRITE button. If you prefer the way other VSTs work, automatically saving presets into the bank, set this to ON.lahatte wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2019 5:21 am Hi Martin. If you are still doing any development on this, I have an issue loading some patches or banks where many sounds are the initial patch. Using Cubase 10.03 on Windows 10.
For example, I was trying to create a bank to save with the syx files from the
G-StormElectro_JX8P_Bank1. If I load patch number one, save to the patch 1 spot, then load patch 2 (Bass), and save to the spot 2, then arrow back to patch one, it is the initial patch sound.
I have seen the same problem when loading a bank of factory sounds (kvr_414571_6184_1522007599.zip).
I am curious if anyone else can replicate this.
Thanks!
Please, let me know whether that resolves your issue.
Cheers,
Martin
I'll let you know if I have the issue again.
Thanks!

Be aware that some patch files you find in the internet only contain the presets 33-64, with the others empty. This is particularly true if they have been produced by a dump from the JX-8P. The hardware synth has the following memory layout:
1 - 32: Cartridge (not accessible if no external cartridge is present)
33-64: RAM: User bank
65-128: ROM presets which cannot be overwritten by the user.
Cheers,
Martin

Does anyone know if PG8X (au version) will work with MacOS Mojave? I'm still on High Sierra - I usually update OS one version behind the new release, but am using PG8X on several WIPs and don't want to risk that.

AFAIK there is no AU version of Martin Lüder's PG-8X, at least not on the dev's website. There is a Mac VST and a Mac app – both work fine on my Mojave.

EDIT: Well, there is an old discontinued AU that I just found on Martin's Dropbox:

Good news – it seems to work just fine in Mojave 10.14.5 in Live 10.1 and in Logic Pro 10.4.6.
If it were easy, anybody could do it!

Yep, the old AU seems fine, but using a chainer/wrapper like Blue Cat Patchwork or Plug and Mix Chainer means you can use the latest version of the VST in LogicX.

There was a reason Martin stopped developing the Audio Unit version. I can't recall what it was, though.
I'm using the VST (with a wrapper) in Logic X for now and it works well.
