As far as I know, the GUI is drawn by CPU, which makes it slow and laggy. Come and, add scaleable gui with GPU render, it's really time for that. It has been years already.
Believe me, we're not ignoring it. I can't say anything definite but we're acutely aware.

Then why don't you make anything about it? It has been most request feature for years. I personally was like 99% sure that it will finally become on Reason 11. But no. Same old shiet.

No, ReWire has been discontinued in Reason 11
And no plans for AAX, yet at least. So Reason 11 will be incompatible with Pro Tools :(
No point in updating then.
AU is coming before the end of the year and we're looking at AAX but I can't say exactly when/if.
please create the MIDI-FX version too, Player Devices(on External MIDI Instruments) would be very useful in Logic :hail:

What'll be interesting is whether or not this will rejuvenate the Rack Extension format, because RE development has been stagnating for ages now.

In the interest of honesty, it's not been the most requested feature for years. We do surveys, stalk forums, interview users, do market research and so on and while it's definitely requested, it's not the most requested feature. Doesn't mean we won't do it, but just wanted to clarify.

That aside, we're absolutely looking at it but as a company representative I simply can't say when/if we'll do it yet. Sorry!

Can Reason Rack Plugin host 3rd party VSTs?

Can Reason Rack Plugin be used as a MIDI source, i.e. use QNG or PolyStep Players to drive Serum or Avenger?

What I really wonder about how/if the great midi fx/sequencers/arp, especially the new ones in Reason 10, will work in the rack in another VST. Does midi drag and drop for example will work in another daw ?

Had the news in the mail and first thought,
"this move makes Reason even thinkable as an option".
To have Reason within one`s daw is literally a game changer.

Pretty unexpected (also for the wallet) but very welcomed.
Will closely watch infos, user reports in particular.

Congrats to Propeller team, nice one.

The usual... forum peeps always think their most requested features are the common public's most requested features. :D

Not in the first version, no. And we have no plans for hosting VSTs inside our VST, high inception-warning on that one. Happy to hear you're interested in using Players as MIDI FX in your DAW though, definitely a good idea.

:tu: Please consider that - there's NOTHING as powerful and easy like QNG, PolyStep or Delta MIDI Computer in VST world (I really searched).

I'm a bit confused about how to use Reason as a VST host in combination with another DAW. Before Reason 11 there was ReWire, but how are you supposed to use Reason as a VST host without ReWire? :?

+1, that would be fantastic. Since Logic was basically stripped of the Environment (I know, it’s just old and wounded) and no modular features are in sight (yet?), there is a lot of automation data required to keep things interesting. MIDI FX are a great way of making that a little easier and if Reason were to step in, that would increase its value even more for me.

Read the announcement, watch the video. It clearly says it's only the rack which is loaded as a VST in any DAW that supports VST. In this VST you can choose the different Rack Extensions that you own.
