Strobe2 would be a great choice. It's easy and fast to use yet is deceptively powerful. Every control has a modulation ring around it and then you've got a full modulation matrix if you really want to dig in to it. Or you can simply use it as a very straight ahead emulation that makes exceptional Juno and SH-101 sounds without ever digging in to the extra modulations. As an actual analog emulation, I consider it to be more accurate than the other synths you own.quietzone wrote: Mon Aug 26, 2019 9:52 am Choices are:
+ D16 LUSH-101
+ Audjoo Helix
+ FXpansion Strobe 2
+ Tone2 Saurus2
Been stocking up on synths, and I own Pigments, kHs One, Sytrus, Harmless, Poizone, Sakura, Sawer, Hybrid 3, Vacuum Pro, Loom, Synthmaster 1+2, Iris 2, Waves Element, IK Syntronik, Wiggle, Sektor. Planning on getting Harmor and probably some u-he stuff and Serum in the future.
Would be for making all kinds of music and scores and sound design. As I'm pretty much covered by the ones I already own, which would be the best value in itself and as an upgrade path to bundles?
I'm leaning towards Strobe 2 as I see the best deal on it is 30% off plus it looks very capable and offers some visual feedback on what's going on which is good for a perpetual n00b like meAm I making a mistake choosing it?
Also, you can use Strobe2 to crossgrade to Cypher2. That crossgrade is on sale for $69 right now. Where Strobe2 is the fast grab 'n go synth, Cypher2 is the sound design synth. I used to manually port over patches from an Alesis Andromeda to the original Cypher and it was almost scary how close some of them sounded to the originals.

Sticking to a few select software companies can help with that. Ultimately, the best back up is to constantly be exporting stems.VitaminD wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2019 3:45 amPlus, if you're buying the next new eq or synth gear (even if you are actually using these tools to create music) you're going to end up with a filled hard drive and locked into reinstalling all these plugins if you ever switch PCs and want to reopen these projects to edit or rework at a later date. That gets messy, I know from experience.![]()

Rapture was an awesome synth that I believe can no longer be registered.quietzone wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2019 8:46 amIIRC issue 200 has the full Cakewalk Rapture in it in addition to a stack of CM plugins, so that may be worth a look if you don't own any CM issues.

Your best bet is to do it yourself with samples in Kontakt or Halion. btw, are we talking Ry Cooder slide or CC Deville slide?dzilizzi wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2019 4:22 pmI am still looking for an overdriven electric guitar slide sound whose length is controllable with a modwheel. I hear it in my head, but my fingers don't contort well enough to play guitar. And none of the slide sounds I have are long enough.

They actually kept the Cakewalk Command Center alive. People have confirmed that it still works for Z3ta+ 2, so it should also work for Rapture:Uncle E wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2019 4:41 pmRapture was an awesome synth that I believe can no longer be registered.quietzone wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2019 8:46 amIIRC issue 200 has the full Cakewalk Rapture in it in addition to a stack of CM plugins, so that may be worth a look if you don't own any CM issues.![]()

The issue is getting DAWs to accept the plugin. Even Bandlab says plugin risky.

Hey now, you should have more sense than to tell a joke like that. A...2nd sense, if you will...

The pre-Gibson/pre-Command Center versions of Zeta+ 2, Rapture, and Dimension Pro work without any problems or warnings in Cubase 10. I never "upgraded" to the Command Center versions. I really appreciated how Cakewalk used serials and did not have CR copy protection before Gibson ruined them.kitekrazy wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2019 4:54 pmhttps://www.cakewalk.com/RegisterUncle E wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2019 4:41 pmRapture was an awesome synth that I believe can no longer be registered.quietzone wrote: Wed Aug 28, 2019 8:46 amIIRC issue 200 has the full Cakewalk Rapture in it in addition to a stack of CM plugins, so that may be worth a look if you don't own any CM issues.![]()
