Is Propellerhead (ReasonStudios) the first DAW to offer their Instruments/Effects as a plugin in other DAWs?

What is Reason Studios? edit, got it, it's the new name for Propellerheads

I gather that it will be possible to use Reason as a VST instrument or effect inside a proper another DAW, is it true?

Very cool, when I downloaded Reason demo years ago and browsed the combinator paches, my first thought was "i wish I could load this into my Studio One like a normal VST instument".

You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Wasn’t EnergyXT the first? (Also abandoned first...)
@ Yellowmix if you wait for something which happened in the past, you need a wormhole or end up in a play from Ionesco...

FL Studio was very early too.. it has been available as a rather clumsy VST plugin forever.

I think that is FL or maybe Buzz(?) were first. E-XT was still reasonably ahead of the curve letting you use a whole Host as a Plugin.

Reason going this way is still a notable event tho as this is an environment with a different plugin type loading inside VST inside another Program. If they have the stability and almost bug-freeness of their usual releases then this is a moment indeed.

I thought maybe it would be a good move for companies for addtional revenue and exposure . But then, again selling their proprietary stuff as VST plugins, just open them all up to cracks.
With Reason copy protection, maybe it works better for Propellerhead.

Reapers plugins, if you can cope with the GUI's.
Yes, I can and did. They are good quality and lightweight. Unfortunately moving over to mac awhile ago, I lost the Reaper plugins since they are only available for Windows.
