He's a programmer at Xiaomi. He still actively supports his plugins (meaning you can email him and he will take care of issues for you) but probably doesn't have time for much development.
Thanks a lot for the clarification, Eric!

Basic bug-fixes would still be desirable to see - there have been absolutely no additional builds of either for over (2) years, now.

Has anyone looked into the difference between the new UVI Toy Suite and the old Acoustic + Electric Toy Museeum? I'm trying to figure out if it's all new toys or if it's really a bundle of the old toys plus a new 8-bit synth (plus maybe some new toys??). No info about that anywhere.

That’s what I’ve complained, too - badly informed.

Yeah weird isn't it? They offer an upgrade of 99 EUR for a very limited time, but no info what the upgrade gets you. Are we supposed to compare the manuals hoping sounds haven't been renamed?

I asked UVI support:

Toy Suite includes all the sounds from Complete Toy Museum, plus a lot more and adding new features:
- 53 new acoustic toys (including multi-mic recorded new instruments: toy pianos, bells, bar chimes, percussions)
- 14 new electric toys (including some very rare ones like the Boombox style electric keyboards)
- A new selection of SID/Video games sounds included in the Electric section
- New sleek, unified user interfaces for the Acoustic and Electric sections with deep tone shaping tools and pro-grade effects such as Sparkverb, Thorus, an impulse response processor and more
- The 8-Bit Synth, a dedicated chip synth with a vintage video games vibe, and with lots of unexpected cool synth sounds

That's excellent info, thanks stepkus!!

So, worth the 99 EUR upgrade price, what do you guys think?

Demo video looks interesting. Seems to have a huge amount of content. If this style is your thing you probably can't go wrong at that price.

I got the Steinberg "INSTRUMENT19" deal for Retrologue 2 and Padshop Pro. I own Cubase 8 Pro, so I already have Retrologue v1. and Padshop, and thought that the "upgrade" versions of these instruments would apply, but after purchasing the upgrades, the eLicenser won't accept the upgrade activation codes, saying there's no valid license to upgrade from (it does see the Cubase 8 Pro license).

Is this the way it's supposed to be? I was under the impression the Padshop and Retrologue licenses that come with Cubase 8 Pro were upgradable this way...

What you did sounds reasonable to me.

I don't think that you could count on Steinberg reading this thread. You could try posting on the Steinberg forums:

or opening a support ticket for their online store:

Thanks, yeah I opened a ticket with Steinberg, but they hadn't gotten back with me yet, and the Steiny rep I talked to on the phone didn't seem to know much about the situation.

Send them a tweet. Believe me. You don't want to grow old waiting for a respond from a 3rd party helpdesk(Asknet).
