If you're fortunate enough to be using FL Studio (
), there used to be a demo song called 'Hooverlicious' or something. The author had used the free 3XOsc plugin to make the sound and from what I remember it was a big sound.
The notes on the file said something like "3XOsc can't do everything for you, but it can do the hoovering" - class.

Analogue or digital – which is better? There's only one way to find out... FI-I-IGHT!!!

Cool thanks for the tuning tips, guys. Ive made some not-so-bad hoover sounds with simsynth live, synth 1, and a WEIRD hooverish sound from Odo's "dreamer".

Cool, I'm glad you got a Hoover sound out of Synth1. Try this with synth1 also. Create 2 instances of Synth1, both synths with Saw waves on both OSC1 & 2 and turn the "Mix" knob all the way to the right, turn the "Track" button ON and set both the "Pitch" & "Fine" knobs at 0, then detune one synth about -25 and detune the other one about +25, so it creates a nice PHAT detuned saw sound when both instances of Synth1 are playing together.Chase wrote:Cool thanks for the tuning tips, guys. Here's a hoover patch for ConcreteFX's Rock (freeware):
http://dystonia.audioshot.net/elemental ... hoover.fxp
in the vein of the Beltram Alpha Juno, but a bit less soft. Legato is your friend for all the swoopy bits.
