Hi guys,
Just got meself a laptop off ebay (or hopefully, should arrive today), need to get a firewire audio/midi interface for it. Can anyone recommend a decent one, mainly for use with Tracktion?
Was looking at maybe one of the M-Audio firewire jobbies, could maybe get one second hand for a decent price, but I've a sneaky feeling Jules has griped about M-Audio's drivers being flaky before now, which makes me nervous.
Ideally I'd need something that's low latency, has a quarter inch jack in, phantom powered xlr connection and mic pre for my rode nt1a, and a single midi in. Midi out i'm not too bothered about
What's good? What should I get?
Thoughts gentlemen (and birds) please
Chico
Should I get an M-Audio firewire card?

A friend of mine whom I recently converted to Tracktion is using an m-audio firewire 410 with no problems. I’m using a motu 828mkII and there have been no issues. I guess it depends how many inputs/outputs you are looking for and how portable you need it to be.
