I think the lads should do what ever is needed to protect their software. If it's an elicenser, then so be it. Avenger is too good to let go.
If they do decide to go with the dongle route maybe a small percentage off the full price or even a slightly more frequent sale to ease the burden ( for some) to purchase the little blue stick, and for those, like myself who have already purchased it, maybe a little bit of cash off the expansions.

Well, I think this team generates a lot of extra work itself, since it still doesn't fully understand to integrate a proper copy protection strategy to its business plan and IMHO should read what Urs once wrote about it. But I am fine with codemeter, but also I am pretty sure it will be cracked then, sooner or later. What then?

Just saying, "Reason has not been cracked" as 1 example is not like a pro argument if there are other examples that have been cracked

Every decent, modern PC runs circles around the "for audio optimized Windows XP offline vintage PCs" some studios still have. I don't understand why in 2019 it's necessary to cripple your Windows installation to a degree, so that your latency goes from 2.8ms down to 2.5ms when playing 350 tracks in your DAW.

I'm trying, but all I can think is about them other companies that charge $0 for transfers. The Sarge! wrote: Sat Sep 14, 2019 8:48 amcalm down, other companies take up to $50 + VATe@rs wrote: Sat Sep 14, 2019 8:07 am €25 + VAT... I'll NEVER EVER pay that. Looks like I'm stuck with 1.4.10.
Joking aside, it' s not the actual transfer fee amount that pisses me, it's VS' attitude that stops me from throwing more money in their direction.

I'm seeing people that are trying to change things that won't change the decision being made by VPS. I love this thread, but tired of all the endless moans.
I will repeat again. If you're not happy where Avenger is heading, don't update or sell it and leave this thread alone.

1.4.10 is a very complete synth, offering more options than most synths. Don't like the protection thing? Just keep using 1.4.10.
Let's also not forget that crackers started this ball rolling, not the Vengeance team.

not in my opinion, no. This argument came from KVR people..."You don't need a USB port ....." Is this an argument in your opinion?
I am a gamer since the 80s and play even today (if time allows). Why do you think I made the 8bit and 16bit XPs?I didn't know you knew games so well
