Transport controlled from buttons on V61?

Hi! I just installed a lovely Alesis V51 in my studio and it has a pile of buttons that are programmable.

I'm trying to find a way to bind those buttons to the transport controls but there's nothing obvious in Settings. Is there a manual section or something that explains it?

Waveform 8 here.

All help appreciated! :D

Depending on how MANY keys you want customized, MIDI learning works to allow you to do things on your keyboard.

You can see if you can either FIND a controller that it may be close enough to, or create your own of none of the "standard" setting definitions work for you and you can't find one.

Create a new control surface, and from there touch the special keys and then define what their action is. I took a 5-octave normal keyboard once, and defined the lower octave as play/stop/record etc.

Cool! 'll give that a try, thanks a lot!

Coming from a guitar background, I don't like to not-level edit, I'll redo the take until get it right...

You can do it to get yourself going; but also check forums to see if somebody may have actually come up with one for download. If you DO, then you can disable your own custom control surface to test the new one, to see if it's any better than what you're put together :D
