I had forgot about why I left Tracktion9 sitting dead on my PC. Fired it up and added a VST to a track. Boom Waveform disappeard. No error, no message, just disappeard as it had never even been started. Ok, maybe thats why. I thought to myself and tried another VST, boom crash same story. So neither Retrologe, Prologue did work.
Is it any better in version 10 than version 9?

Try free version of waveform 10, and maybe have a read of this thread, page 2 response from Jules, the originator of trackion:

Are you sure that you set up Waveform properly, and set a suitable audio driver. Retrologue (Version 2) sure works with Waveform 10 here and as far as I know, worked on W9 just as well. Are you on Windows? Personally, I've had very few problems with VSTs over the years with Tracktion/Waveform and when I have had, it is usually the fault of the plugin.

I'm going to be picking up the latest version of Waveform in a bit. I really love this program a lot.
It would be good to know if they fixed that thing of it not remembering the patches in the drum machines I used though. I tried quite a few different drum machines and none of them recalled the original settings properly. So it wasn't the fault of the drum machine and it wasn't a compatibility issue.
For some reason it didn't seem to have a problem with synth patches. This is in Waveform 8. Both the 64-bit and 32-bit versions of the programs on different machines did this. It was the main reason I stopped using it.

Which drum machines? I've used Jamstix, BFD, Drumatic and many others, never had a problem with patches being remembered on any version of Tracktion or Waveform.

I forget now - it was on a different machine I don't have access to right now. Pretty sure one of them was Drumaxx though. I thought it was just some random incompatibility but I know I tried a couple more to check. None of them recalled the patches in the project.operandx wrote: Sun Sep 22, 2019 3:24 pm Which drum machines? Very strange.
Oh, I seem to remember I was using that step-sequencer module to trigger them - the one in Tracktion, not sure if that had anything to do with it. I didn't spend a lot of time trying to get to the bottom of it I admit, or contact support.

No experience of Drumaxx so I can't comment. But I can add Revolution and VLinn to my list of drum VSTs which I've had no issues with. By step-sequencer, are you referring to Waveform's "Step Clips". You can set these up for a particular VST drum instruments key mapping and save them as a template. You can also save Track templates with everything set up for a particular track including effects and your drum VST.

Actually, I forgot, I have a clone of the machine in the corner. I'll fire it up and see what drum machines they were.
Right, it was Drumaxx, plus AD Tattoo.
Tattoo kept defaulting to the first preset, which was not the one it was saved with in the project. So that doesn't work.
Drumaxx needs to have the preset loaded again but any tweaks are lost. That doesn't work either.
Two different ways of the respective plugins saving and storing presets, but neither of them work.
But I tried Vlinn and Drumatic 4 and they do work. So does Waldorf Attack. So does SD2100. So does AD Axon.
Weird. I'm not too bothered about it. It just seems the very first two random drum plugins I tried out of the dozens I have just have issues.
I'll buy the latest version of Waveform when it comes out and check to see if the issue is still there, if so, I'll contact support.

Well. It is the same plugin I use in other DAWs. Setup is basicly just waveform out of the box since I did not get anywhere. I could sort of accept it if W9 notived something was wrong, gave an error and clsoed the plugin. But this. Just crashing without any sign. That is so awful that it just pissed me off so I am very reluctant to sink any more money in this.operandx wrote: Sun Sep 22, 2019 3:05 pm Are you sure that you set up Waveform properly, and set a suitable audio driver.
