Pausing the Transport on Ableton Causes CPU spikes while using MSoundfactory

Setup: Mac, Mojave, Ableton live 10, one track with MSoundfactory as instrument.
While writing a song, one will usually play and pause the song to check musical harmony. Now, whenever I have MSoundfactory as instrument, upon pausing the transport, it causes cpu spikes and is usually accompanied by clicks or clipping sounds through the monitors. Thought not as severe, it even causes spikes while using just one oscillator. I'd like to know if there is a way to fix this.
Hi meldabros. Hoping for clarity.

Thanks for the info. I'll check it out. But it sounds like Live is doing something (reseting the plugins or something?). Did you enable something? It would explain it, since reseting the instrument requires lots of processing and would also cause the "click". When you pause, do the instruments immediately stop playing even if you hold some keys?

what do you mean by 'enable'?MeldaProduction wrote: Sun Sep 29, 2019 5:18 pm Thanks for the info. I'll check it out. But it sounds like Live is doing something (reseting the plugins or something?). on the spikes and clicks, the jumps are quite dynamic upon pausing if the sound requires lots of processing. if its just a simple sine wave the cpu jump is comparable with VPS Avenger, Unfiltered Audio Lion and the stock Wavetable synth in Ableton. Though it is noticeable that there is a click upon pausing with both MSoundfactory and VPS Avenger even with just a single sine oscillator without fx; no clicks with Unfiltered Audio Lion and the stock Wavetable synth.
on pausing: the instruments stops immediately. I cannot comment on the holding-keys-after-pausing part since I mostly edit the midi through mouse and computer keyboard
I like the synth. Perhaps I'm just hoping MSoundfactory will unfairly perform like a stock synth. Well, hope this info helps

Aaaaha, well, then I'd simply suggest using VST3, it's better anyways. Imho AU is highly unreliable and wastes lots of memory/CPU for nothing. To me it always looked like it has been created for media players, not for professional audio.
