Yup, sounds like matching to pink noise (or perhaps with some low & high roll-off). Sadly this is not good enough to "make something sound good". If it would, we wouldn't need to be mixing .

Sorry Vojtech but thirtyOne doesn't matches to pink noise, I already explained (and it's not a secret) that internally it makes a weighted average of the bands trying to reduce peak and notches close to each other, the applies a compensation curve that "resembles" pink noise in the default one, but you can customise it as much as you want.

Actually what you are describing IS matching pink noise (or custom curve, we have that too, you can draw whatever you want or analyze some songs) with smoothing. But in our case it's actually better, because we use log-scale smoothing, which gets you high accuracy for all frequencies, while they just use bands, which is easy to implement, but... well not accurate.
