F*** Godness! That sampler could be fun...MeldaProduction wrote: Mon Sep 30, 2019 9:50 am IT already has been extended a lot, a new beta today![]()
How is the "position" / playhead automation supposed to work.
I have put a sample in "manual" mode.
Observation 1: I've setup a Env to modulate the "POSITION" Parameter with a slow attack time.
But even with a 100% and full moulation setting the play position only went to the 500ms mark of my very long sample which is more than 4 seconds in total.
Observation 2: I don't have a single clue how I could set up an Env Modulation upon "POSITION" to make it sound like when I haven't used manual mode? Why would one ask for that - I would love to jump around in the sample and take "Grains" with the correct pitch. But that would only work, If I could control the POSITION and Speed in a meanigful way...i.e. change POSITON in a way that it reflects the correct pitch, i.e. make the position change twice as fast when I press C4 compared to when I press C3. This Grain Idea I have - I see some potential in combination with the new Sample And Hold module to make the "POSITION" jump around in the sample and take grains.
Hope that does make some sense...
Anyway, good work!

Vojtech is a programming beast, I have faithnichttuntun wrote: Mon Sep 30, 2019 7:58 am Hi.
It´s very rudimentary right now, but I think that will change hopefully![]()
It has the feature to change the start and end of a loop via modulation and that does result in cool sounding stuff![]()
Have fun.

Hey, where did you get it from? Is this a closed/private beta?

Yes, it is. When I understood right, MSF still is in beta and new modules have to be tested.sirmonkey wrote: Wed Oct 02, 2019 1:23 amHey, where did you get it from? Is this a closed/private beta?

It's a private beta at the moment; Vojtech expects to make it public soon (this week?).
But it is an early version - more features will be added.

Granular sampler would be great too
(I know there is already an Effect for that MGranularMB)
But I'm not 100% if a Granular sampler would do the same thing to Samples (maybe I used the MGranularMB too little till now

I would
to see Iris like features in the MSF Sampler!

This would be awesome. I thought back when MSF was released there was mention of implementing a sampler and something granular--or both together (MGranularMB was already a part of MSF at the time, IIRC, but I'm foggy on that). I have for a while wanted something like Iris 2, but with the ability to do granular effects on individual spectrum/time (envelope) selections.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Perhaps something simpler, graphically, like in this Max for Live device, Iota:
But instead of just looping the selected sections, granular effects could be applied, with some granular controls like spray, grain size and so forth (not sure if any of this would be feasible, given CPU demand). It would also be cool if each selection could be given effects (filtering, pitch shifting, delay). Would be cool if one could morph selections--or even do this with several samples and morph them in some smooth, not so granular-sounding fashion, for sound design purposes.
If I'm sounding stupid, please feel free to metaphorically smack me with your words.

Dirtgrain and David,
Great suggestion!
Iris/Iota/ Woooow!
An option to arp selections?

MSampler Heaven!
The Iota like features to be in real-time finger multi-touch manipulation
And the GUI to be the control surface
With fades, mute, velocity or dynamic control, arp, loop, multiband and fx.
Sorry got carried away here.
