Totally agree. Sometimes people talk about synth programming like if it is quantum engineering. I suspect some laziness nowadays, people are used in their everyday life to achieve things in a matter of seconds and couple of clicks now. Of course learning Falcon will take some time, effort and dedication but man it's far away from flying a space shuttle. I pretty much learned the Falcon basics in a weekend with some good black coffee and let me tell you that I'm very, very far away from being a synth guru expert like some of you here. I was already able to create my own presets and do a lot of things in a matter of a weekend. Doesn't take more than just some time and dedication (along with the manual and the Youtube videos and you'll be good to go)bmanic wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 7:54 pmSLiC wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2019 7:16 amDefinitely a steep learning curve...one of the only synths I have ever owned where I needed to read the manual just to get a sound out of a blank patch!
Once you get the basic workflow and (and to me this was key) name a load of template blank patches to your taste it’s pretty fast...I prefer it to Halion and Kontact anyway....
I am NOT finding the overall synth difficult to understand at all. Why on earth do people constantly use the excuse of "it's difficult/complex to learn!" with bad UI design? These two things are not at all the same.
I have zero problems understanding Falcon. It is NOT a difficult piece of software at all. The core concepts of how it works is super simple.
Falcon requires quite a few extra clicks to either get the information you need (for instance my macro knob example earlier) or to have it do what you need it to do.

I am looking for a way to control filter frequency by velocity do i overlook something or is this not possible with falcon? probably it´s my fault...
ok, was my fault; eq must be in keygroup fx.

In that case you need to use the hack to trigger modulation on level higher that Keygroup using a fake modulation on keygroup level that trigger the same legato envelope.Dillinger wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 8:29 pm Hi Oliver,
Great work on Falcon 2!
Yes, midi CC automation is working like a charm.
I think my description failed me, I am looking for a way to modulate the stop using an internal modulator, the multi step for example or a square lfo
As an example, I am trying to achieve this scenario:
Sound 1 has tape echo effect, stop is triggered after X seconds, Sound 2 fades in as Sound 1 fades out. All can be set up to be sequentially achieved accept the stop after X time. As far as I can tell, it needs externally triggered (midi cc or manual click).
I’m sure I’ve never seen any program accomplish this and the reader may be thinking “overreach”, but those are just 2 reasons I adore Falcon.

Just verified Simon ticket this morning and it's the reason why.otristan wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 7:05 pm Regarding the pan unisson stuff. Will check tomorrow the thread more precisely but right out of my head.
In case of stereo or mono scillator if there is no random phase and no detune, you have two oscillator running in perfect sync (Perfect digital copy) hence there is no stereo effect even if you pan one left and the other right.
There are no pitch drift or free running oscillator that would give a stereo effect.
No need for custom modulator on Analog oscillator Phase parameter though. You can set Random to Phase spread which is taken into account even if there is only one voice.
Don't hesitate if this is still unclear of why this behave like that.
Thanks !

I think this is what your describing.
I’m familiar.Dillinger wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 3:59 am ...An early work around was the keygroup modulator workaround. By adding a layer modulator at the keygroup level, assigning it to pan and make it’s ratio 0 so it has no effect on pan and set it to Legato, then use that modulator on the layer level effect itself ( Thorus in this example) you will now have a functioning layer envelope. Has to be Legato only...
Although right clicking the stop button in the mode section of tape echo brings up Midi/automation control and not the drop down menu. Same thing for the enable button for the bands in the digital EQ module.
No problem though, after some thought and a test run, I found that modulating the time parameter within a dual delay module accompanied by a volume fade out gave me my desired effect.
I guess I got old juice.

Is there some way to easily overwrite stock presets with your edits in individual patches in either 3rd party soundbanks or factory ones?

Yes you can make new patches from 3rd party & factory patches. They will all save a individual preset. The original is part of a monoliith file.

Actually you have to save a new preset, it won't overwrite the stock preset. This is kind of frustrating when saving automation assignments, but it makes more sense than destroying a library you paid for
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

Thanks. Wish you could overwrite the original though. I assume you can't make your own bunch of saved patches as a uvi spoundbank that appears along with the official ones in the main soundbanks section of the browser.

Otristan ok thanks for checking. Though frankly to say i still not quite inderstand why it not works on Pan. (Yes i read that message by link, but perhaps here is partly my knowledge of english).otristan wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 8:14 amSee my explanation herec_voltage wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 8:49 am Here i upload video: http://www.mediafire.com/file/5lwzww0gz ... d.mp4/file

Or, please can you make simple example exactly with Analog oscillator module (or two this modules if required for solution), when Unison will audible modulate Pan of keygroup ? Without link to pitch respectively.
(That fact that Analog osc have built in spread let's will not touch, need to understand the essence).
But, if you will reply that it's not possible (ie that such principle of working Unison module this is intended behavior) then we will look at this moment differently (newly).
Or perhaps Simon will be able to explain it somehow differently maybe.
