It is impossible to please everyone 100% of the time, when it comes to anything.
It's impossible to come close. But in my opinion, Vojtek and crew put a tremendous effort
towards that goal.
The digital realm only changes faster and faster. But really, we now have audio processing that's
far beyond what the most advanced professionals had just a few decades ago.
Surely we can find a way to be happy!

Is it just me, or does your post is somehow cynical? If I am right, I want to ask: Can you tell me what you are trying to accomplish with such posts, though? If I am wrong: sorry, then and forget my question.

I'm not sure you mean to use the word "cynical", in this context, albeit cynicism is one of those things that is appropriate, in the right amounts.

Speaking to my post, it was a joke, in a more sarcastic vein. But I do think that MacOS users should boycott Melda, on the grounds that he has a condescending attitude, and resentment towards the Mac platform and it's user-base, which he has no issue in broadcasting across various threads on an open forum.

Personally, I won't pay him another cent, which means that my Melda plugins will just disappear into the ether. And if anybody asks me whether i recommend their products, I'll steer them towards developers that are worthy of the investment :tu:

The main issue with the Melda mail for me is that it's a rant, that is completely free of any technical expertise, or technical discussion.

It's entirely possible to have a reasonable discussion about difficulties that developers face with Catalina. This piece on Protools Expert goes into details of the new read-only OS partition, notarisations, the transition to 64bit (which started in 2003...), etc.

There's this thing called 'Radar' - most developers, even those that are behind on current tech, are familiar with it.

Apple also offers direct support for developers:

Apple f*** their users and developers who develop for their platform hard, and KVR jumps on developers who state how the situation is. KVR is a real joke sometimes. Apple users are a real joke anyway.

And why putting in that much emotions in the first place? I think this won't help anybody except your emotional self in just that one moment.

You can do this, no problem. But why writing about it? Afraid that Meldaproduction won't notice that the missing customer is you? Again I am asking: what are the whole emotions for anyway?

Again: why that much emotions? It won't help, in my opinion. It just makes us all totally blind, ranting and screaming to each other with bad feelings. This is pure sad and doesn't help anybody, seriously.

Why such emotions? Because there are idiots in this thread who invoke boycotts against developers, while their OS vendor is the one they should boycott.

Perhaps, go back to the point in our conversation where I wrote it, to see if you can understand the context for why I might have done so :tu:

I am writing about it to explain that while I am not going to bother starting a petition to boycott, I am personally unwilling to support this developer. I thought we were having a conversation, though you seem to be on some psychoanalysis kick. Are you this much fun at parties? :scared:

Another one who has missed the flow of conversation.

Developer sends out mail urging MacOS users to ditch (essentially, "boycott") Apple, in favour of Windows.
>>
KVR-member makes a joke about setting up a petition to Boycott said developer.
>>
Windows-user happily calls MacOS user an idiot for responding to a call for a boycott by making a joke about a boycott, while himself reinforcing the notion that MacOS should be boycotted.

Great job!! :tu:

Feel free to post the mail here. I'm sure he wasn't suggesting to boycott Mac OS X. ;)

That's what i mean. Why the eff are you making up things? Come back to earth.

And you really think it will help in this situation, if you start to insult people? I think it won't - on neither site. Totally regardless if you like any site.

I seriously cannot follow or understand which point / post you are refering to. (no offense, just pure lack of understanding here)

So getting personal is one of the main tactics you got? I find it pure sad. I am just trying to calm down the situation a bit. I did never insult anybody in anyway. I just tried to protect Meldaproduction, due to my belief in this company - without writing anything bad about anything.

One could ask the meaning of life, probably. Regarding this special place and situation I say that emotions the one thing that makes us all tear apart the most. And this helps nobody - especially in this topic, which originally was about how to copy data from one drive to another, IIRC, but the original posts where deleted, unfortunately.

Probably not, but, idiots are idiots.

Found the thing in the meantime, by the way:
Over the years, many users of non-trivial applications have reported compatibility problems in OSX and it looks like there will be even more reports in the future, starting with Catalina. This may be a good time to review your options and consider switching to a different platform.

If you are satisfied with your Apple platform and you like to put the Apple stickers everywhere you go :), please stop reading now.
Yeah man, nice boycott invocation there. I'm sure they're already burning trash cans and throwing molotovs in front of Apple's HQ. :dog:

Kudos for a developer stating it like it is though.

He was suggesting the Mac users drop MacOS in favour of Windows. Is that not a boycotting of MacOS

Maybe in your dumb little brain, you need to compartmentalise things in such ways. The rest of us can see people as the individuals they are.

For whatever reason, you seem to need to say "Apple users are a real joke anyway". Are we to assume that you do understand that there are no traits that"ALL" Apple users possess, or are you really not able to comprehend the reality. Do you also, for example, not manage to find a distinction between different women, or Latin Americans, or gay folk. Perhaps you seek to identify them as one coherent whole to make it easier to disparage them?

Well, maybe a mod could close this topic, since it does not make sense anymore.
