 and would be handy if at least the 'space' key would be passed to the host DAW if not Element but a plugin is in the focus (or at least 'space' should be captured on Element level and not passed to the plugins optionally) to able to start/stop the host DAW, MIDIFX version also would be very very handy in Logic ... and the last touched plugin control assigning possibility to the macro controls too

otherwise working nicely, thx a lot

just uncomfy a bit :) ... yet and already looks far better than Metaplugin, I don't have too many expectations just need a Patcher like solution in Logic (and thx no need even an auxiliary track for MIDI note triggered envelopes beside two other one...)

Hey thanks! Will have better plugin manager / library in a future version. Is that the "Unverified" menu in the screenshot?

yepp ... part of it :) , btw as a quick and dirty solution I would introduce a filter into it, so for ex. if I would start typing 'fab' just simply should remove all the elements which don't contain this fragment from the list

Kushview Element has gone open-source.
An e-mail from the Dev states:
Due to lack of sales I have no option but to shutdown the web store. Along with this I have also made the source code for Element publicly available on GitHub. I figured this the best option instead of letting the project come to a screeching halt and die.
Pre-built installers will seldom be uploaded to Github, but will continue to upload every single release to kushview.net. You will always have access to these by normal means.

Starting in 0.40.0 there are no licensing requirements. If you have Element SE, you now have access to the full version including the plugins.

Please feel free to continue offering feedback. This system has also moved to GitHub.

And as always, I will continue support Element for you whatever the state of the project becomes.

Thank you for understanding.

Definitely not stopping! I treat this stuff like an art form. https://github.com/kushview/element/ for anybody interested.

Thanks for doing this!! :)

I've just downloaded and will consider subscribing to Patreon to support further development.Do you have a road map?

Some things I'd like to see added in the future are:
  • Catalina support
  • Ability to use KORG Gadget plugins (at the moment they just appear with black GUI)
  • Ability to pan in the mixer (or did I miss this?)
  • Some native modules for sequencing your synths
  • Some native modules for modulation (MSEG envelopes, LFOs etc.)

i'm very glad that development wouldn't stop, and that the developer took the high ground approach and open-sourced it, instead of, like many other companies, going the route of "well, if we're not getting it, no one does". i stumbled upon Element when i was looking for an affordable alternative to Plug&Mix Chainer, which couldn't use VST3 plugins - the nominal price was in line with other similar hosts, but it was on some kind of ridiculous sale that i snagged it up almost immediately. others can correct me but I believe Element is the only full-featured plugin chainer that's still being actively developed that supports VST3, and now it's free (as in beer and as in speech).

i sincerely hope more people sign up to their Patreon.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Hey thanks acid alex, and no problem. The app should run on Catalina already (v0.40.0). I and another guy tested this build and it opened. If not for you then that'd be something that needs addressed in 0.41.0

Roadmap - The best so far are the GitHub milestones: https://github.com/kushview/Element/milestones. I have a 100+ more tickets to move over from my private issue tracker. Milestones and projects will be updated as I go along. By this time next week, it'll be much more complete.

KORG Gadget - Yep this one is on the TODO list and about to be bumped up in priority as a few other guys have recently reported the same problem. I just hope I don't need a piece of hardware to debug it!

Pan the mixer - nope, you didn't miss it. Just not implemented yet.

Sequencing... This one is most certainly planned. It's a big one!

LFO/MSEG .. These are also planned for the future as well.

Thanks for the info. Definitely seems like its a project worth supporting!

One problem I have had with this new version that I never had with the Pro version I was demo'ing previously. None of my VST or AU plugins are being picked up by the scan. They are all appearing red in the list. I've tried rescanning and restarting my Mac. I can see that it is scanning them correctly as I see them shoot past in the scan dialogue but they all appear red at the end. Only the Apple AU's and Elements plugins are being found. If I try and load an unverified VST/AU plugin I get a dialogue stating that the plugin could not be instantiated.

Edit: oh and regarding KORG Gadget, why would you need hardware to debug? As a VST host would Korg not give you a free license to problem solve?

Strange. By chance was the previous version running in 32bit mode? In order to prep for Catalina, I needed to upgrade build tools based on Xcode 10+... this version doesn't allow 32bit building, and hence no Universal binary. If that's the case, then I'll need to produce alternate non-Catalina binaries.

If you select the items in red, right click, clear them... Will they scan in again?

Hi, no I wasn't running in 32-bit mode. If I clear/remove the red items and rescan them they are still not recognised and appear red in the list again.
