Why would you suggest that though? I don't suggest that you should use Waves' products either.

I am confused with the WUP upgrade cap... it shows $240 then it shows figure of over $300 if I upgrade everything. It explains that I have some duplicates. I am not sure how that happened and I don't see any duplicates in my owned plugin list.
Do any of you know what could explain this? Also confusingly if you check the option to upgrade WUP through your favourite reseller and then get the code and give it to them... audio deluxe ... it shows a different value BEFORE they apply their own discount.
Is this voodoo? Does anyone understand Waves formulas? What is the difference between the CAP (thought a cap meant just that... a cap) and the everything upgrade. ANd then the altogether difference basline price that audiodeluxes shows before their discount is a number that sits between Waves CAP and the eveything WUP option.

It gets even better - Some time ago I asked some third party company to calculate how much WUP would cost me. They asked for my user id and I also told them I want to upgrade everything. They replied they can't calculate the cost because I have many overlapping products and I they can't figure it out

"Your Waves Update Plan exceeds the $240 cap due to either selecting multiple identical licenses, or the coverage you’re about to purchase is for more than 1 year for some of the selected licenses."
In my specific case, licenses are divided into "expired", "expires soon" and "covered".
The cap stays at 240 if I only select "expired" plugins, it goes over 240 if I select from the other two categories, which falls under the quoted part, meaning that I'd be purchasing WUP for something which didn't expire yet, so that means 1 year + X months/days from the current date.
The only sure thing is, once again, this whole update fee system is very confusing for the vast majority of their userbase.

They are going to capture all your other files and lock them in there.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

Most likely because you can use any removable storage as a location for your licensesReefius wrote: Tue Oct 29, 2019 9:42 pm Why does the new Waves Central put an empty Waves folder on my external drives?

You can deselect license storage locations in the setting. By default it assumes that every HD on you system is a potential location for licenses.krabbencutter wrote: Tue Oct 29, 2019 10:00 pmMost likely because you can use any removable storage as a location for your licensesReefius wrote: Tue Oct 29, 2019 9:42 pm Why does the new Waves Central put an empty Waves folder on my external drives?

I suggest it with sincerity: There are many other options to Waves which are the same or better quality where you don't have to deal with WUP and the versioned install processes. Grated you'd have to spend more money on other plugins. But that's what GAS is for!chk071 wrote: Tue Oct 29, 2019 4:43 pm Why would you suggest that though? If they weren't so damn slow in updating the guis to making them usable on hdpi monitors I wouldn't be that concerned for paying the $240 to WUP it all but they are doing this in fits and starts. I would think that price should include a committment to updating the guis within the year that you update your WUP to 11. I could aborb that with a less angst but alas that is not the case.
To be fair Waves is moving a bit faster than Universal Audio who still don't support VST3, Midi Learn and much of their back catalog is not optimized for hdmi either.

You may have duplicates that don't actually 'show', ie, you may have plugin 'x' which you purchased as a single, then later you purchased/upgraded to a Bundle which also contains plugin 'x'. Make sure you aren't selecting any plugs that are 'also' contained in a selected bundle.Scotty wrote: Tue Oct 29, 2019 5:26 pm I am confused with the WUP upgrade cap... it shows $240 then it shows figure of over $300 if I upgrade everything. Personally I don't and never have had an issue with Waves stuff or Waves Central, I just follow how it is supposed to done and it works like a charm every time, even the transition to v10 while still having a hand full of v9 plugs went without a hitch. I am constantly amused by all these people saying they have issues, disastrous outcomes etc, the only thing I can think of is that a lot of people think the process should work how 'THEY' think it should work and ignore the correct procedure or something, or have manually messed around with how things are setup. I just follow the instructions and let it do what it wants to do, never an issue, same goes for others people I know personally, no issues.

V11 of Waves Central is actually really nice. Quite an improvement over V10.
