People can joke, but when we read a joke, followed by another joke, then another joke, and another, and another, then the thread becomes a collection of jokes, and NOT FUN anymore.
I do jokes myself, occasionaly, but one or two jokes per page is about my tolerance limit. More than that, and I simply abandon the thread. Balance is what we need.
Now, back to the FabFilter. I join my voice to the strip channel. although I wouldn't mind that something like Timeless would be expanded to a modulation FX monster.

I'd like to see a good metering suite
next on my list would be Timeless 3 with updated/better sounding filter models, saturation, etc
Third on my list would be Saturn 2 with updated / enhanced algorithms
Oh, and truly scalable GUIs pretty please, like Audio Damage, TAL and a few others are doing.
I have no use for a channel strip, but that's probably just me.

I can say with complete certainty it will be a metering suite. How do I know? I bought SPL Hawkeye this week

this (thank you) and I will add that it was a report from a member in this thread that brought me here. Also e@rs please note the timing of this, I had said please stay on topic and this person said it was their mission to basically push the envelope, do you really think I should have said nothing?fmr wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2019 9:56 amPeople can joke, but when we read a joke, followed by another joke, then another joke, and another, and another, then the thread becomes a collection of jokes, and NOT FUN anymore.![]()

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

What is useful about a dedicated cstrip is that it usually hones in on the essential tools necessary to make general adjustments. As such, the functionality of Eq, Compressor, Gate etc., can all fit in one plugin window. This not only helps to keep things ordered i.e not having to switch between multiple plugin windows, but will also be tend to be less cpu-hungry than having multiple instances of unique plugins.NeoKortex88 wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2019 11:33 am When I queue equalizer compressor etc don’t I have a self made channel strip then?
In some cases you may find that certain parts of a project will need more precise, surgical intervention, or perhaps a special character plugin. However, for the first bog 'moves' in a mix, cstrips can be a great workflow boon. Try one

Would FF really be that dumb and combine all of their tools into a single plugin like a channelstrip? Knowing that peole will complain anyways if its only stripped down versions like they had with the dynamics in Pro-Q3?

Adding dynamic functionality to an eq is not the same thing. And people may complain, but the almost seemingly universal praise garnered by Waves' Omnichannel would suggest that cstrips are definitely appreciated by many peopleHSum wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2019 4:33 pm Would FF really be that dumb and combine all of their tools into a single plugin like a channelstrip? They've added the dynamics only stripped down because they have Pro-MB out there which was exactly made for that purpose. Combining EQ, Gate, Comp, Saturation, whatnotelse into a plugin renders their products obsolete. I think they can only loose creating such a product. Especially when all those analog guys come out and need all the classics emulations. Fabfilter is more known for the clean sound.

would like to see something like that but possible of extreme FSU type manipulations perhaps with some pitch shifting/granular/delay line stuff. something that can be used subtly but also for more intense sound design.. and yeah a lot can be done already w/the modulation functions of timeless and volcano etc but a multi-effect type thing would be great. even just updating timeless 2 w/some added weirdness would be dope.hivkorn wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2019 5:43 pm ...maybe a modulation multi fx? It is the last type of effect that fabfilter don t have (chorus / flanger / flagner...)

I think a channel strip is against Fabfilters mentality. Fabfiltee is all about precision and tweakability whereas a channel strip is all about broad strokes. I also think it would be a waste of time to invest their resources into a channel strip when they already have a broad range of capable tools.
