I would like to know what exactly changes if the high quality mode in Repro-5 is activated. By ear I would say that the filter somehow sounds smoother and the pitch variations differ, also the stereo width. Could be random, though

8x oversampling instead of 4x for most of it, filters in particular, 32x oversampling instead of 8x for JAWs.

Although, this is relative to 44.1/48kHz. At 88.2/96kHz those numbers are cut in half, at any samplerate above 176.4/192kHz they're cut in half a second time.

I've always been curious as to how the CPU usage scales as the sample rate increases. If I run at 88.2 versus 44.1, does the CPU usage of RePro-5 basically stay level because half the oversampling is now needed, even though twice as many samples are being output per second? Or is there still an increase in CPU use?Urs wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2019 1:19 pm Although, this is relative to 44.1/48kHz. It's kind of a moot point at the moment as I work in 44.1khz, but if I got a monster CPU, I'd consider increasing the sample rate if it would result in a negligible CPU hit when using things that oversample. Note: the question is mostly rhetorical, but if Urs or someone with experience wants to add some thoughts on that topic, I'd certainly be curious as to their experiences.

Urs can we get higher oversampling rates in repro's 5 distortion? if you push the distortion and the resonance you can clearly hear aliasing, maybe not for realtime but it would be nice to see a higher quality setting for rendering ala Cytomic x32(1.4MHz) or x64 (2.8 MHz) etc.
