Another Realivox Blue fan here. It's the only solo singer instrument I've found so far that can do realistic vocals that can interpret just about all phonemes, so you can get it to sing any words, not just ooohs, aaahs and wohs, by sticking syllables together.
It's not as easy to use as it could be, you have to do some work to get the words in e.g. there's no "I" so you have to construct the diphthong from "Ah Ee" in combination - something that could be made way easier to use if Realivox had a 'user dictionary' feature where you could store the syllables for frequently used words - but it's very flexible.

East West do a choir instrument that can do similar, but it's got a very different classical feel. I'm sure there are others around too I'm not aware of, but it's a bad example of something to knock IMO.

Having my PC swear at me in perfect pitch is good puerile fun. Takes me back to the days when I could get my Soundblaster to sing "What Shall We Do With The Drunken Sailor", if any of you are as old as me :)

Are you safe?

I'm a sucker for poly Prophet sounds. Already got Repro-5 and Arturia's V5, but I'd clicked to buy this within 5 minutes of getting the email from UVI.
:tu: Once you get some time, do let us know your view on how it compares to Prophet V from Arturia. I don't have Repro-5 anymore.
Well it's samples-based so a better comparison is with the Pro-V in IK's Syntronik package. First impressions are it can sound flipping huge and it's great to get those sounds without concomitant CPU spikes.
Oops, right. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Realivox Blue fan here too. Lots of flexibility indeed, but I also love the four different voices in Realivox Ladies.

Uncle E - will you be selling the UVI PX P-10 soundbank at the intro price?

Post

Can UVI Soundbanks be resold? If yes, what's the transfer fee?

It’s an iLok transfer. $25 per bank with a $50 cap per single transaction.

Damn! iLok for soundbanks too? Ridiculous.
Thanks for the answer. I am really tempted to buy the PX P10. Sounds incredible.

I am wondering on what basis is this only for students. I mean anybody could just buy it, isn't it?

mgw38 wrote: Thu Nov 07, 2019 12:52 pm Output has a November sale (I guess that would be an early Black Friday sale). 25% off on all software titles, including the bundle. Bundle upgrade prices are also 15% off. They do not do sales particularly often, especially upgrade sales are rather rare.

https://output.com/products#instruments
Do you happen to know how are the upgrades routes? I can't find them in the site and I don't have any product to check out. Thanks in advance
The upgrade prices are automatically discounted in your account based on the number of products you own. If you don't own any product, it does not make sense to you. But if you are interested in any Output product, now is the time. They do sales only twice a year (IIRC) and it is always 25% only.

Earlier this year, they did some products for 50% during NI NKS special. I grabbed some during that time for a great deal. I think that might happen again in the first quarter of 2020, as it has happened for two consecutive years now.

If you try to buy it, you need to prove student status first to Reverb.
Okay, thanks for the clarification. I did not see any info on that page, so thought to ask.

I think it is a good deal for students.

You can normally find the regular SM1 on sale for around $25, I don't know about the student version in particular. Keep in mind that on Reverb you can make an offer to the seller, so you can always try $12 or $15. They sometimes accept such offers, worth a try.

Is the regular SM1 better than this one?
