Occasionally, when I'm in Tracktion the sound just disappears for no apparent reason. I have to restart the program, or sometime the whole system to bring it back.
Any ideas what the cause might be?

Platform, what kind of audio interface are you using, do you use ASIO, and if so what driver is used for the audio?

Any chance you have a flaky USB connection from the computer to the Scarlett? If the connection gets a momentary disconnection, tracktion will "lose" the fact that the device is present.
There may be a way of re-enabling within Tracktion, but the conventional way to recover the connection to the lost device is to restart Tracktion.
