Zebra 2 "note step" mode for MSEG?

Hi,
I would like to modulate a parameter in Zebra 2 on each 3th and 5th note I play in a row, and then it repeats after 8th note. So that the MSEQ kind of doesn't restart on a new note + stops after each step. Is that possible?
As in bitwig the parseq 8 mode "note advance", but in Zebra instead:

Not sure if this would be exactly what you want, but you could modulate the MSEG modulation depth via a modmapper.
You set the modmapper to increment mode, set it to eight steps, and then adjust step 3 and 5.
Then the MSEG would only act on the target on each 3rd and 5th note you play.

Yay, that's it, exactly that I was looking for, thx.
Is there a way to restart the MMAP, and maybe also to add inertia to the value changes?

AFAIK no way to restart it. Mod mapper can only be smoothed in "Map Smoothed" mode, not "Increment" mode.

Pretty much what Evil said.
But the modmapper will reset to the first step when the host transport state changes. So either on stop, or start of the host playback, depending on your host.

Changing shortly. In Uhbik, ModMappers restart on playback start. Should be same in Z2 soon, too. I think.

Yeah, just hit playback start (which pretty much most hosts should support...)Hanz Meyzer wrote: Tue Nov 12, 2019 4:44 pmUrs wrote: Tue Nov 12, 2019 4:21 pm(only from 2.9 on)tasmaniandevil wrote: Tue Nov 12, 2019 4:15 pm Pretty much what Evil said.

. So will there be a way to restart in 2.9?

What if the increment syncs to host song position? So an "increment synced" option? An then the edit options "shift right" and "shift left".
Well, I then still miss a reset possibility thru midi cc or so, so it plays in the same manner each time. Making it just dependent on pressing start somewhere inside the song might result in a desynced stepping, if the song was started elsewhere.

Would be great if there'd be a trigger input to force restart apart from playback start.Urs wrote: Tue Nov 12, 2019 4:20 pmChanging shortly. In Uhbik, ModMappers restart on playback start. Should be same in Z2 soon, too. I think.
As Hanz says above:
There needs to be a way to force a reset in another way. Custom CC or something. Maybe MIDI note 0 (internal beta forum punHanz Meyzer wrote: Tue Nov 12, 2019 5:24 pmWell, I then still miss a reset possibility thru midi cc or so, so it plays in the same manner each time. That would be actually great, simply using a note for a restart. Not sure if it annoys the DAW pianoroll zooming then. But painting a spike into a parameter automation wouldn't hurt either. Can't you add "restart MSEG1-4", and "restart LFO1-4" or so?EvilDragon wrote: Tue Nov 12, 2019 6:00 pm Would be great if there'd be a trigger input to force restart apart from playback start.

Funnily these are the kind of things we started adding with Hive 2.0 - but I'm not sure we can add it to Zebra easily.Hanz Meyzer wrote: Wed Nov 13, 2019 9:02 amThat would be actually great, simply using a note for a restart. As we're well past the feature deadline, I think we should first gather some experience with the reset-on-playback start
