I've never got it quite right.
Any pointers you'd like to share
Unkind of you, dear chap.Well if you can't do it kevvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv I'm unlikely to be able to help you.
I would usually expect to have to come to you for questions like that.
Jeez ... thanx for your thoughts. Layering to get a better core sound seems like a good start.Eq and reverb. Reverb's hard - you have to program it so there's a huge sense of space, whilst still being plausible, and not completely washing everything out.
Layering with other percussion (like orchestral bass drum and orchestral cymbals) will also help add "hugeness".
A mish mash of stuff from all places ... except a dedicated timp library. Also take into consideration your sound is only as good as its recording. What's your source material from?
Actually this is quite a good suggestion.Jeez wrote: Layering with other percussion (like orchestral bass drum and orchestral cymbals) will also help add "hugeness".
I hope this was a little more helpful than my last response.
