Microphones - anyone know of any significant deals coming up for them?
I've been looking for a good deal on the Slate VMS ML-1 or Townsend Sphere L22 for a long time - I really want to go the modeling route. I was hoping they'd drop significantly or a new player would enter the ring to shake things up (well Antelope did with their Edge, but they're not trustworthy).
Slate VRS8 right now is $2000 and includes nice hardware (the 8 pres are 6 too many for me), but includes the ML-1 mic and software which now works with Windows TB. Townsend L22 seems to be the better mic, and alone costs $1500 (with additional models available only with a separate UAD interface) but I don't *need* to change out my interface unless I want those models. I'm really on the fence, and no deals is keeping me in limbo.

Have you tried Vital?

Last year on Black Friday I got my slate ML-1 for $500 and it came with extra mic models worth $99 for free. You should for sure wait for Black Friday before deciding as they might repeat the deal. I’m personally hoping they have some sort of bundle deal for multiple ml-2.Psuper wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2019 5:34 am Microphones - anyone know of any significant deals coming up for them?

Does anyone have and recommend Mastering The Mix Never Get Stuck Again ebook (+ audio book)? It is available for a good price at JRR Shop. I wonder if it will be a simple PDF format?

It's all obvious material that is also freely available in various tutorials and opinions but it could be useful if you're oblivious or need a reminder in an organized fashion. Have you completed songs regularly? Do you have a working knowledge of music theory? If so you're not missing anything. What makes you think you need the book?LoveEnigma18 wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2019 8:28 am Does anyone have and recommend Mastering The Mix Never Get Stuck Again ebook (+ audio book)? Thanks. This is the main reason of thinking to get the book. Not sure if the book will really help me to complete the songs more than dedication and focus.yellowmix wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2019 9:33 amHave you completed songs regularly?LoveEnigma18 wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2019 8:28 am Does anyone have and recommend Mastering The Mix Never Get Stuck Again ebook (+ audio book)? Great, had been waiting for this one as an avid Ueberschall fan.

Didn't Plugin Boutique have an offer like this on Izotope last year that turned out to be an error (that they didn't honor for purchases before the error announcement)?...Ceej wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2019 11:35 am Sharing because if this is legit, it's almost too good to be true - iZotope's "Tonal Balance Bundle" (Ozone 9 Advanced, Neutron 3 Advanced, Nectar 3) for $199?
https://www.pluginboutique.com/articles/1558
It just says it's an exclusive coupon for "owners of iZotope products", and doesn't specify which products may be necessary. But of course right now you get Nectar 3 Elements for free with any purchase at PB, so it sounds like you'd register that first and then you'd be free and clear to register the Tonal Balance Bundle. That bundle is normally $699!

What really lit a fire under me in terms of mastering was having 2 out of 10 tracks on my next album professionally mastered. I got a lot of good technical feedback and information from them. That gave me the motivation and pointed me in the right direction to bring the rest of the tracks up to the same standard as well as I could. I've really raised my game -- I mean, I've done my own "mastering" for quite a while now, but it was pretty basic level-matching stuff.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2019 11:12 am Not sure if the book will really help me to complete the songs more than dedication and focus.
I also read a couple more books on mixing and mastering, wondering if anything else would click, but didn't really find much insight there. A little confirmation, maybe.

So......is Steinberg going to join in on the fun? What about Ableton? I know they are stingy with their sales...but I don't recall if they do Black Friday discounts. Really hoping Steinberg steps up though.
