Sytrus is an FM synth with additive oscillator editing and subtractive filtering. Harmor is an additive synth on steroids, able to - for example - resynthesize samples and even pictures. I think I prefer Sytrus, because I'm a huge fan of FM, I like the sounds I heard from it and the GUI is much better laid out & organised. On the other hand at least 2 friends I asked about it suggested Harmor. Harmor is kinda scary to me, because with FM - once you "get" it - it's pretty predictable, controllable to an extent and quite versatile, whereas additive synthesis often sounds very sharp & galssy, which obviously has its place too but is not always desireable.
For context, I already have few FM synths (FM8, FM4 and PX7 in Reason, FM-4 and Operator in Bitwig and Live) and few additive ones (Razor, Loom, Parsec and Spectra in Reason). The music I make is - mostly - psychedelic trance.
Help!
