I bought a second hand Ozone 7 Advanced on here and bought the Advanced to MPS upgrade from JRR, so yes it is a crossgrade!quietzone wrote: Thu Nov 28, 2019 7:40 amWas the $175 from scratch or from elements or did you upgrade/crossgrade from advanced or a bigger bundle?Vleker wrote: Wed Nov 27, 2019 9:56 pmI got the complete Music Production Suite 3.1 for ~$175 a few weeks ago, if you plan your purchases right iZotope can have really good prices!Ou_Tis wrote: Wed Nov 27, 2019 6:42 pmSo I guess it's not a pricing error? The deal is now live: https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/ ... -products-Ceej wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2019 11:35 am Sharing because if this is legit, it's almost too good to be true - iZotope's "Tonal Balance Bundle" (Ozone 9 Advanced, Neutron 3 Advanced, Nectar 3) for $199?
https://www.pluginboutique.com/articles/1558
Asking because I'm about to buy MPS3 for $335 (Crossgrade from elements) so not sure $335 is a great deal if it can be had for $175.

Haven't spent much time with them yet, but Plugin Boutique Scaler and XLN Audio XO are probably the best purchases I have made this season. Just saying.

The Console 1 plugins are great and the new Tube-Tech MK2's are great. I'd say pass on the Summit, it's quite old and isn't on the same level as the much newer Tube-Techs.telecode wrote: Tue Nov 26, 2019 3:38 pm Softtube seem to have a big list of BF sale items. I made a modeling mic called the NOS12. The mic itself is a circuit clone of a vintage C12, complete with a 6072 tube, a custom Cinemag transformer, a large diaphragm dual-capsule, a vintage-style head basket, and oil-in-paper capacitors that I sourced from Russia. The sales pitch is "How do you emulate a classic mic? You start with a classic mic" because the mic already has the fundamental components and characteristics of the most sought after vintage mics, all the software has to do is match the frequency responses.Psuper wrote: Mon Nov 25, 2019 5:34 am Microphones - anyone know of any significant deals coming up for them?
I've been looking for a good deal on the Slate VMS ML-1 or Townsend Sphere L22 for a long time - I really want to go the modeling route. I was hoping they'd drop significantly or a new player would enter the ring to shake things up
We made some recordings of the NOS12 with its U47 emulations compared against the actual two vintage U47's we emulated and it sounds closer to them than they do to each other.

Is it possible to upgrade/trade-in your Soundtoys plugins for the full bundle from one of the sale sites rather than doing it through the Soundtoys website?
I am choosing between trading up to Soundtoys 5 or getting uhbik with the 30% coupon. The Soundtoys bundle is more expensive at $135 and with that price difference I could get Uhbik and scaler instead. So any suggestions with regard to the differences between the two would also be helpful. Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask.
The Soundtoys bundle seems a bit more versatile and covers more ground, and from what I remember reading about this subject a few years back is generally seen as more useful and essential than Uhbik. I’ve also generally enjoyed using the Soundtoys plugins I own more than Uhbik, which I also owned briefly. But it looks like Uhbik 2 addresses some of this with its improved gui and enhanced capabilities. Also the u-he sale is more of a one-time thing while similar Soundtoys sales are likely to happen again.
I would only likely ever need one of the two bundles though, as the included Cubase and Bitwig plug-ins and a few other individual ones from various developers also cover a fair bit of ground. So I guess what I really want to know is how the sound of the two bundles differs, and what they bring to the table character and usability-wise.

Do you think the Scaler product is a complement to Steinberg/Cubase Chord Assissant tools or it kind of does the similar thing. (Haven't really demoed Scaler yet!)Ou_Tis wrote: Thu Nov 28, 2019 4:39 am Decided Scaler was cheap enough now to buy even though I can't demo the updated version. It's interesting, but its scale detection still drastically underweights the tonic and treats likely accidentals as scale notes. For example, midi notes C Bb G B G, with the B note significantly shorter than the others and the G notes significantly longer, gets top suggestions "C Lydian #6" and "C Lydian #2 #6". The next highest ranked suggestions are "A# Super-Locrian Diminished bb3 scale", "A# Locrian Diminished bb3 scale", and "A# Locrian Diminished bb3". After that, the suggestions are "B Double Harmonic Major scale", "B Neapolotian Minor Scale", and "B Persian scale"---making the accidental the tonic! Then finally it suggests a scale with G as the tonic---but it's "G Ionian Augmented #2", which assumes an augmented fifth (D#) for no apparent reason.
OTOH its list of matching chords from unusual scales provides some interesting suggestions, for example C7(sus2 b5) and C7(sus2)#11.
[Edit: and the list of chord progressions for different genres is ridiculously small.]

The release of the AVA Spectral Compressor has been delayed until next week, which was probably the reason for listing it as out of stock:Uncle E wrote: Thu Nov 28, 2019 8:48 amThanks! As per my communication with AD, the deal is about earning "DeluxeBucks", which you can later use it for future purchases. This is because in-cart discounts is not possible for companies like UVI and a few other. You will be able to see the value of DeluxeBucks on the product page.profaudio wrote: Thu Nov 28, 2019 9:22 am30% off UVI sale is available but wondering what is the "exclusive deal"?AudioDeluxe wrote: Sun Nov 17, 2019 4:52 pmYes, UVI will be having a Black Friday sale at audiodeluxe.com and we will have an exclusive deal for our customersAny idea if UVI will have a Black Friday sale? Just sharing my views: Scaler, while it can do many things, is really useful to come up with chord progressions. I consider it as a tool on which I can spend some time to just create and listen to various chord progressions, whether I create them myself or combine them with the suggested ones. Once I have a solid progression, I can commit to it and then proceed further with the instrument selection. I am not into advanced music theory and complicated chord structure, so what Scaler offers to me is more than sufficient. I think it's well worth $29. With version 2 coming soon, it's a no-brainer. I did not realize before buying how useful it is.telecode wrote: Thu Nov 28, 2019 9:56 amDo you think the Scaler product is a complement to Steinberg/Cubase Chord Assissant tools or it kind of does the similar thing. Just bought the Izotope Tonal Balance Bundle Crossgrade (Ozone 9 Advanced, Neutron 3 Advanced, Nectar 3, Tonal Balance Control plugin). Absolute bargain. If you are a Plugin Boutique member I recommend purchasing via there because you can use any credits you have. Ended up costing $180. The price of Ozone 9 Advanced alone as a loyalty offer from iZotope is $299.
Also Plugin Boutique pretty much offers Neutron Elements as a freebie with most purchases at the moment, which I think just owning that gives you the option for the Tonal Balance Bundle, so it opens it up to a lot of people.

so the UVI sale is 30% off - didn't they have a bigger sale previously in the year? Just trying to work out whether I should simply wait for a better deal from them.
