Reaper 6 :o ? Don't have Bitwig but can agree with you. It's so nice customizable and scriptable. That's the functional tools i need, with endless possibilities. So, that's the dream, sometimes you wonder that something isn't possible in an environment where everything is possible, but the development is going on.

Thanks for that answer. I am definitely intrigued to learn more about Reaper now. I guess I will watch some of the videos you suggested. I will report back :)

I think it should be possible to use a note random instead of the s&h in the example.
In the past i used this aswell, but nowadays I always get programm crashes (DAW freezes) when using the "manual position" function (btw, it crashes both, Bitwig and Reaper).

I would have sent a bug report in the next days.. (sorry Vojtech):
When playing a note and changing the manual position by hand or with a lfo the whole programm crashes. Reaper even tries to auto-mute the channel before it dies... in Bitwig I only get pretty high volume readouts and then it crashes.
No Problem with the patch here neither in BW 3.0.3 nor 3.1b both 64bit on Win10. I've checked my patch with VST3 Versions 13.06, 14.00b and 14.00 final. I have never had any of the problems in BItwig that you reported in your later post. Probably I would recommend to check your system setup... OSI Layer 8 probably

You´re right... I always opened a preset (created way back when sampler was introduced) with the sampler and a sample already loaded + loop and other stuff activated... when inserting a new sampler modul and a new sample this problem doesn´t occure... Should have backchecked that better.

thanks a lot. sometimes you just need someone who tells you the truth (that I´m stupid.)

Do me a favor please... open an empty Bitwig project and then open the POP-UP-BROWSER by clicking on the plus in the bottom row (where the FX are placed). Then go to Msoundfactory VST3 and open it by DOUBLE CLICKING on the name of the Plugin (not by a single click + OK button). When Bitwig doesn´t crash, delete MSF and re-open it by iterating the process... at my PC and Surfacebook (both Win10) it crashes after opening a few times, sometimes right away..

When opening through the Browser on the left side by drag and drop I never witnessed this problem. And with the VST2 version I have no problem at all.

Hope you take it with a grain of humor ... I myself have often been reported as OSI Layer 8 problem ;-) Doing "weird" things is my special move you know ;-)

Of course! That would also be my super-power if I would be a superhero. Super Bug :borg: or even Super Weirdo... on the other hand I got called the later one even without a superhero status. :hihi:
Making failures and accepting critique about those are a must to learn and becoming a better "whatsoever".

I´m just happy that I finally eliminated this problem... :tu: Thanks again.

I just put your preset into an Unison Module and offset it a little (pan and env)... to create multiple graincounts which spread in the stereo field. It still would need some finetuning..

Here's a version that can play pitched and chords ;-) Be aware - very cpu hungry
The trick is that you have to scan through the sample frome the random position using a pitch-related speed. therefore I use a synced LFO that does the scanning ;-)
Sounds nice with my melotron sample ... still this is not a real granular synth :-(
