MCC Generator

I'm almost sure that Vojtech will refine MCC sooner or later (i.e. there are artifacts in it providing functions that are actually not available in MCC but in other MPlugins). Don't see why additional CCs shouldn't be possible when doing an overhaul - and yes, it'd be nice to have more.

It's also possible in Bitwig to use a Bitwig Modulator on any device as a bridge. Here a MIDI modulator is assigned to the White Channel Low, Hi Mid and High gains on MIDI channel 1, CC 16. MCCGenerator is then used to send modulation. Bitwig modulators allows to set a range on a parameter so that a full MCCGenerator travel can only use say 70% of the parameter but moreover, a single Bitwig modulator can be assigned to many VST parameters so that a single MCCGenerator can work with 3 VST parameters in this case, each parameter having their own 'local' range.
I haven't tried it specifically in this case, but it's also possible to route MIDI from one channel to another, so that a MCCGenerator can work with VSTs on different tracks. I use that in other ways, like for having MIDI data on a track sent to another track MIDI input on a different MIDI channel (eg. different instruments in Sample Tank).

Dang, the most obvious solution didn't come to my mind until mevla posted his idea: just open another instance of MCC and double the CCs...
You can even route them to each other and let them modulate themselves...
Must try this next...

Yeah, you are right of course..
Thanks elassi and mevla!
It would be cool to list down everything that can be achieved with MCC Generator to collect some creative information and workflow ideas!

I'm afraid I do not use VST3, so can't help in this specific case.
By the way: MCCGeneratorMB ?

Nonsense it is not an extreme limitation. And it's FREE. Why not just add another instance? {edit: already mentioned by others]enCiphered wrote: Thu Dec 05, 2019 12:01 amThanks. That´s what I thought. Damned, why this extreme limitation? This little tool could be revolutionary..elassi wrote: Wed Dec 04, 2019 11:57 pm You can have 8 banks (A-H) with 8 different CCs each. But only one bank at a time, so basically the answer is: Yes, 8 CCs only.

Confused here - how would you see that working?mevla wrote: Thu Dec 05, 2019 10:54 am I'm afraid I do not use VST3, so can't help in this specific case.

And, regarding VST3, I think that MIDI CC events are handled differently in VST3 but do not know the details.

MCCGenerator accepts MIDI notes (at least it lets them go through since when placed behind a synth the notes will pass through to the synth, as shown in the Icarus screen shot earlier in this thread). So depending on the MIDI notes being played, a different band would be activated.

I must be missing something but I'm still confused. MCCGenerator has no bands. And the MIDI notes into MCCG could only be used in the MIDI Settings for automation or in the Modulator/ Envelope.

Hence the question mark.DarkStar wrote: Thu Dec 05, 2019 2:49 pm I must be missing something but I'm still confused. MCCGenerator has no bands.
As in: will we see a MCCGeneratorMB ?

I wanted soo much an midi macro vst with a easy/fast work flow for years and years, MeldaProduction did even more with modulations connections !!!
Testing it for few hours now, it's just so amazing the chains modulations you can do with that beast
Iam so happy, i don't have anymore to switch to different DAW at the same time just to experiment some effect with midi macro.
And 1 less thing tools at trying to find alternative in endless forums pages.
Thanks !!!!

Oh, we got spoiled with this MCCGenerator
Now we will beg for more
1) Support for more CC slots > 16
2) Support for midi notes > great for drum patterning, pseudo-generative applications and other esoteric stuff…
Vojtech, you opened the Pandora box
