Controller box with 4 XY-Joysticks?

I think that it would be great if there was a controller box, which would allow to control the 4 XY-Pads of Hive and Zebra directly, with 4 mini-joysticks (instead of using 8 separate knobs) or 4 mini-touchpads.
What do you think?
If there is sufficient interest, we could ask the Faderfox company, how much something like this would cost. Maybe they would be interested to make this into a product.

The closest is using Joué board with 3 XYZ (Area) pads overlay... One pad missing...

Then I'll buy two :hihi:
Nice products but expensive. :(

I setup a TouchOSC layout with 4 big XYs just for this. Works great. Large XY pads on a touch screen work very well.

I think a single USB X-Y Stick would sell well. Something you could put on top of your midi keyboard (weighted or with a non marring suction cup). Sort of like what is found on a K1M:

A Google search turned up nothing.......

new midi joystick just out: https://www.thomann.de/gb/lab4music_enjoy.htm

Personally I use one sensel morph with a custom overlay set up as 4 separate XY(Z) pads - You configure this in the very easy to use supplied software (you can download this before you buy to check it out) and you can 'print out' a nice 4 box XY display just like Zebra to go in the sleeve (or if you are realy in top it custom print a 3D overlay- plenty of people will do it for you for a few bucks as a 1 off)

Its obviusly not the same feel as a real joystick, but a lot cheaper and with many other uses....
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

That's more expensive than I paid for the Sensel with the Buchla overlay or my Faderfox that is festooned with buttons, sliders, knobs and 2 joysticks !!!

Yeh, its not cheap, but to be fair it is also a Joy-Midi-CV-LFO converter/generator, and CV generating joysticks for eurorack are not cheap either!

MIDI-USB: control change generator according joystick and pedals movements. MIDI-CV: control change remapping incoming CC from USB external device to Control Voltage outputs (-4.5V +4.5V).
MIDI-CV: MIDI note messages conversion to PITCH, GATE and VELOCITY signals (0V +5V).
MIDI-CV: MIDI System Real-Time messages conversion to TRIGGER signals (0V +5V).
CV: Control Voltage generation modulated by joystick or pedals (-4.5V +4.5V).
CV-LFO: sine, square, saw, tringle LFO generation, with AMP and FREQ modulated by joystick or pedals (-4.5V +4.5V, max 100Hz).
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

More expensive than the Behringer Neutron or Model D analog synths ? :?

Or I could just grab the X-Y Puck on the GUI of the synth I'm using and move it with my mouse.

Yeh, but I already own the Neutron and Model D :D

Intellijel planar 2 is a very popular Eurorack joystick (with a few other tricks) and it also retails at £300, there is not a lot of choice if you want CV and a real joystick.

Of course you dont 'need' a real joystick to control virtual synths, but its a lot more fun! :hyper:

Yes that's why I think a simple USB Joystick at a reasonable price would be a hot seller. I'd buy one in a heartbeat. I used to own a K1m and liked the Joystick but sadly it doesn't send Midi data or you could pick up a used one pretty cheap these days I imagine.

FoH Choices is a much cheaper possibility...

Is there already a Faderfox model with joysticks? I didn't see any on their website.

This page has Fergo's Reaper joystick midi controller, among
many others (left side, scroll down. I used this with
a Logitech usb gamepad to map x-y axis to
the M42 synth distortion pad, was great fun, and mapped
the many buttons to trigger notes from a few chords.
Taped the controller to my pantleg for easy access.

This may be old, might even require an old Reaper,
but I think the old installers are still available at the www.reaper.fm
I noticed the gamecontroller while rummaging the other day,
so I'll check it out again on the weekend.

Using two apps, Avis Rejoice, and Loop-be1, could also be used, a youtube video from raptoriou5 exists, using fruityloops. Possibly also midi-yoke
on the closet XP machine
