And I agree with Sascha that such topics shouldn´t be discussed in public.
But absolutely no need to bash him.

Yes, I know. It´s the usual KVR attitude..

nobody is bashing him, just pointing out that his idea of how a business works is not realistic

I would just like the team to focus on Zebra 3 instead of creating more products.

Many times, multiplying man power through tools can be far more effective than adding new personnel. That's our focus lately. We bottle consumer products, so it's a somewhat different. Nonetheless, well conceived tools has enhanced our labor effectiveness time and again.

Seek to optimize--and there's no shortage of areas where can be--before expanding is a decent rule of thumb, IMO.

Clones. The answer is human clones. Two or three more Urs, a few Saschas, an extra Howard at least, some more Viktors...so obvious.

That would make for a great episode of Walking Dead.

I always wondered what Urs looks like...

I guess it could work... if we cloned all the u-he staff twice or thrice. :hihi:

Anyone willing to invest in cloning them? :)

And, of course, we would need their approval.

Well,
just for talking, with no precise target...
I drive a software development company, with 10 employees, 9 developers including me.
It doesn't work in that way, alas.
Sometimes, at the contrary, hiring more people on the same project augments entropy without a real cost/benefit advantage.
Software development is partially art and partially technique. And the technique skill part is sometimes a hard matter to find, not mentioning group alchemy.
So, alas, it's not that easy.
Let's wait for U-He products news when they are ready! :-D
I'm quite happy like it is: my bankruptcy is just recovering from last compulsive buy... :-D

Yeah I agree some people went a bit too hard on him.

There's companies like Waves. Which I absolutely avoid at all costs, and they release a new plug every week. At this point, I probably wouldn't even recognised if they sold me the same plugin again.
And NI. Which is a bit better, but is also slowly getting bloated.

Then you have slow and clean and precise companies like U-he and FabFilter... Which release things slowly, but fault-less, and every release is strong at what it does and sound is unparalleled.

Also Valhalla: slow release of plugins, but they are all amazing products.

Yeah. I totally get where the OP comes from, but I have to agree with the "less is more" sentiment. It's good to have it in perspective. What was the original release date of Z2? 2006 or 2007? That's well over a decade and this bloody thing is still relevant. I have unhealthy amount of other synths, but I still reach for Zebra first. I'd rather have one synth like that than dozen of others.

Usually, the more employees a company has, the more time they spend in meetings with less time to spend on real work ;)
