Audio Damage Kombinat Tri
More BPM please

Post

unless I missed it in the thread, seems like nobody mentioned ProF.E.T.
https://www.kvraudio.com/product/prof-e ... gnite-amps

it might be the wildest/harshest distortion plugin I've heard... which also happens to be free, and it's one of the VERY few freebies I keep in my collection

Post

for some reason, i always return to this one:

I remember i've bought Ohmicide because used by Nine Inch Nils... And you can listen (probably "Fragile")... ;-)

Cruelest, harshest: simply the first waveshaper where you can draw your own curves you can get your fingers on should do imo.
Many of them are available for free (on the inet or already come with your DAW), no need to spend money on those
At the same time best sounding though is another question. Probably overall Ohmicide, though Driver has an even nicer tone, but it's trickier to setup properly without more feedback noise than actual distortion, is single band only and just one algorithm.
The GAS is always greener on the other side!

Try a wavefolder like the Jaws effect in Repro-1.

BitCom from Audio Damage was so harsh I could never find a use for it ... seems to have disappeared from their catalogue. It's not even listed in their discontinued plugins list

Woah, OP you got a good list here!
These are the good ones!

Id add..
Recently, AudioDamage Grind has some interesting unique harsh tones.
And, shoutout to Christortion-

Been using it for I dont want to know how long.
Its not the cruelest, but its got a special sound.
Tip tho; For cruelty, add u-he Runciter after your distortion. And turn your speakers down. :phones:

Have you thought about putting a ring modulator in line with distortion? That can get you some really aggressive results.
