Hard to reiterate this again: those improvements have already been made in the 3 subsequent versions of Waveform. Tracktion 7 is an old version and will not be updated. Because why would it? It has been updated 3 versions and those exist.
Linux version?

This is wrong. If you go via the CM instructions, you download the free version of W10 from the Tracktion website.exponent1 wrote: Fri Dec 13, 2019 1:22 pmThat's magware and not the official T7 replacement. The CM version is more like Waveform OEM with a couple of added features.harvon wrote: Thu Dec 12, 2019 3:04 pm There is a new free version, Waveform 10 free, that replaces the T7. It appeared first in the cover of Computer Music many months ago.

[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

If you want to experience abandonware, go back in time and try Tracktion 3 from its release date.
Meanwhile, let me know when the next update of Microsoft Windows 1.0 is coming out.

It's not misinformation. A magware is technically not "free". It's free for the people who've supposedly purchased the magazine and not otherwise. I bought the magazine and then got Waveform Free from File Silo, so technically not free like T7 (I have Waveform 10 by the way).jabe wrote: Sun Dec 15, 2019 6:53 pmThis is wrong. It led me to download from the Tracktion site. Must be a north-south divide thing.exponent1 wrote: Sun Dec 15, 2019 6:59 pmIt's not misinformation. A magware is technically not "free". There is no moral obligation to buy. Those buy who need and want the full features of the software. If or when a score editor happens; That would make me think about purchase.carllackey wrote: Sat Dec 14, 2019 3:09 am buy waveform 10. it's very inexpensive, has all the core features of t 7, and tons more. support the people who make the software. they don't work for free!
I don't record any instruments live, I construct my music.

About waveform templates: Most often I compose my songs in musescore, then transfer midi files to DAW. That means SF2 GM soundfont instruments. A useful template here would be couple of vocal tracks + some miditracks that come armed either with a good SF2 player and font or with a synth with GM presets, 16 part multitimbral of cause.
