I have tried to link an ARP-Cycle and the LFO-Phase of an Modulator, with the goal when I press a note on my keyboard, the ARP starts *and* LFO starts at phase 0 at the same time. And afterwards LFO and ARP run along until the ARP resets which should reset LFO-Phase to 0 as well...
Anyway I faild to get this configured, because the LFO is missing the option to "Sync to ARP-Cycle".
I have tried to find a workaround by using midi filters. The idea:
What I have tried
Use one ARP for the actual sequence that should be played, emitting notes on channel 1.
Use a second arp in an embeded SoundFactory Module with only a single note on channel two. make the LFO in the Modulator listen only to channel two. This second ARP resides in a SoundFactory Module that lives on the FX Page...
My Problem description:
1. Is: When I set the ARP to channel 1 then MSF plays the ARP notes and the original note I have pressed on my keyboard.
Expected: The ARP removes all incoming notes and replaces them by the ARP notes...there's no option for that in the ARP
2. Is: Though I have setup a second ARP in a embedded SoundFactory module - "The LFO Trigger" ARP - and set both channels, that of the LFO and the ARP to 2, the LFO runs freely and is not retriggerd.
Expected: The LFO resets whenever the single notes triggers in the embedded ARP
This brings me to the conclusion, that I don't have a single clue about how the MIDI PRocessing is supposed to work in MSF... or let me ask specific questions_
Questions:
1. Why does an ARP set to an specific channel not remove the incoming note? Even if I set the MIDI filter of the MSF Plugin th channel 1. Incoming notes are only removed when the ARP is set to "channel off".
2. What does it mean to embed an SF on the FX-Page and activates it's ARP?
3. What is the MIDI processing block diagramm, where do notes come into MSF, how are they processed, removed, filtered, replaced by ARPs etc. pp. and when do they ...
3.1. ...Hit the Generators?
3.2. ...Hit the Modulators?
3.3. ...Hit embedded Sound Factory modules
4. Could it be that the outer ARP also resets the ARP inside embedded SoundFactory modules?
Sorry, my experiments really left me clueless and I feel the need to understand the MIDI processing compeltely. I don't have a solid understanding where all the ARPs sit in terms of a midi processing block diagramm when I embed several SoundFactory modules ...
Hope we can get sort of a manual or block diagram... and I'm sorry if I missed the explanation chapter in the manual. If it is that eaasy please give me a RTFM hint
Thanks and Best Regards
