I just jacked out McAfee on my system after much frustration with it's ability to screw my system up and I downloaded the much-heralded AVG anti virus software.
I forgot I had it installed when I ran Tracktion recently and I couldn't understand why it was taking so long to get to the project screen. It seemed almost terminated on scanning for plugins.
Then I remembered that AVG was live. I think it spends alot more time scrutinizing access of .dll than other anti-virus software.
For all of you about to say this....I know I shouldn't use an anti-virus while running Tracktion, or any audio editing/recording application, for that matter.
Just thought I would give a word of warning.

AVG antivirus+ Tracktion + Win98SE = unhappy combination

AGV is the least interfering virusprogram I know of. I even not notice it's there.
It doesn't interfere on my Windows XP PC. I had Norton and trew it away. Also on another pc which had Norton and gave serious problems when editing film I put AGV and the problems are gone.
I think that AGV is less agressive then Norton is; and it takes far less memory.
