MSF Feature Request: set individual speed rates per cycle for per-voice LFOs

I would like to see the option to either be able to set the rate of speed for each individual cycle (when the amount of cycles are defined) or have the option to create of a pattern of rates that can be looped. So ex: cycle 1: 1Hz, cycle 2: 2Hz, cycle 3: 3Hz, and then have that looped. An option to randomize the rate per cycle (between a defined range) would be nice too.

Also when in sync mode, you would be able to change time signature per cycle instead. I could see this be really valuable for edm production such as dubstep and futurebass. If anything, a ramdomization per cycle would be really useful for "analog" type sounds.

On a side note, at the end of an LFO cycle (lets say its set to one shot mode), how do we set it so it doesn't reset to 50%?

I don't really follow, this is an LFO, as an oscillator it oscillates on some frequency, it doesn't really change frequency after each cycle or whatever you really ask for. If you really want something this "specific", try using the custom shapes.

An option to randomize the frequency of which the LFO oscillates at after every cycle. So after each cycle is done, the frequency will change to a random number. So instead of having your LFO oscillating at a single static frequency the whole time, it will dynamically change after each cycle is done.

That wouldn't work exactly.
The request is for a single cycles to have their own speeds. In a step sequencer the length of each step would be fixed, so for example the first step might last for 3.5 cycles but the second step could be 2 cycles. I believe the request is to have the first cycle at a certain speed and then the second cycle at a different speed etc.

Does not achieve the desired effect because the step sequencer is not in sync with the frequency of the LFO cycles.

Exactly! I think this feature would be pretty unique to MSF, I don't know of any other synths that are capable of doing this. Its certainly an interesting idea. I'm not sure yet what use it would get.
I don't think it would be any good as the dubstep example you gave as the wobbles would quickly become out of time with the beat. The idea there is that the changes in wobble speen happen in sync with the beat.
But certainly there could be some other creative uses for it (share if you have any) and it will probably also be unique, I have not heard of this in any synth.

When i think about it, it would be certainly be useful in experimental genres such as IDM, ambient or for effects.

The randomization per cycle is in some Rob Papen products (possibly all) and is called "Humanize" there, among other products found in the synth "Blue II" and the effect "RP-Delay". You chose a degree of "Humanize" in %, just makes the modulation subtly less repetitve and more organic used in moderation. Highly useful in products where modulation options are more limited than MeldProduction, though it could be fun here too.

I can't try it right now, but in principle it is possible:
- Setup Modulator 1 Shape = square, Rate Sync on
- parameter = multiparameter 1
- Set up multiparameter 1:
Set mode to "trigger" and set "randomizer" on (button in the top bar)
parameter: the desired LFO speed
But randomness in audiorate will make the cpu rate shoot up enormously.
Therefore I would recommend to create a step sequencer (sync with audiorate) with random levels.

Ah sorry, it's probably about the cycles of the LFO itself. I think it will be difficult. Then perhaps my first variation modified. I think it's possible.
