Yes, I moved about a couple of years ago from korguser.net to the new Korg Shop. Could this be the problem?
Yes, that looks the same as to what I do. Except that, over here, if I select Combi, I get Goliath, and if I select Program I get Acoustic Guitar (both from Bank 1). I don't know what else may I do. I am in Windows 7 - could it be the problem?PAK wrote: Sat Dec 28, 2019 1:00 pm It's working fine in Cubase, just using default bank/prog select on a (Novation) controller. As said, it doesn't change bank until you also send a Prog change after the bank change.
The first 4 banks are factory, the next 4 are blank (E-H) because that's where stuff like the bank F (MOSS) and G (General MIDI) lived. So it starts changing the EXB's at the equivalent of where Bank I would be, with EXB-01. It will also respect the mode you're in. So selecting COMBI will switch the combi banks, Prog the program banks etc.

No, definitely not that, unless it's a 10.5 issue on Win 7 (I've not went past 9.5 on Windows.. )
Nope. Doesn't seem to be.. (??.. ) It plonks you back to Bank A for those..fmr wrote: Sat Dec 28, 2019 2:03 pmEDIT: I got it to work, but I only need CC 32 (apparently CC 0 is ignored). And I cannot access the User bank nor the GM banks. Why? Is there any method to also access those?
This thing has a really BAD MIDI IMPLEMENTATION. They need to revise it. It's unbelievable how they launched it this way.PAK wrote: Sat Dec 28, 2019 2:10 pmNo, definitely not that, unless it's a 10.5 issue on Win 7 (I've not went past 9.5 on Windows.. )

You're right. It doesn't change from Bank A when you use it as a rack instrument in Cubase, but it works as a track instrument. Strange.fmr wrote: Sat Dec 28, 2019 2:03 pm EDIT 2: I got it to work in a new sequence with Triton instantiated as a Track instrument. But in a an older sequence, where I instantiated Triton as Rack instrument, it doesn't work. This isn't definitely working as it should.
And if you instantiate it first as a Rack instrument AND then add it too as a Track instrument, it doesn't work in neither of them. This is driving me NUTS.PAK wrote: Sat Dec 28, 2019 2:32 pmYou're right. It doesn't change from Bank A when you use it as a rack instrument in Cubase, but it works as a track instrument. They try to get you to go through regional support.
We'll have to agree to disagree on this. I don't own an ios device as I'm specifically stating I'm using Windows many times already. Korg is using the Apple store because the Apple ios devices are in a largely closed environment. It makes sense to put them on the app store in that situation just as it would be to put korg products in the Google app store for android (if they were offered for Android). Since Android is a similarly closed environmentPAK wrote: Fri Dec 27, 2019 11:15 pmExcept it is. You're using the app store if you own an iOS device. It's also locked down and, essentially, piracy free. That's not the case with any equivalent on Windows. To get things to work as smoothly (auto-install etc, no user interaction beyond pushing the in-app button to buy) would require a lot of back end work, which may or may not be justified by the present market conditions on Windows.
With customer service for two dozen new individual products, installation issues, people confused which ones do what, buying Gadget versions of the full VST version they already own etc.VitaminD wrote: Sat Dec 28, 2019 2:57 pmthey offer their individual synths on the Korg shop proper. Individually. Thus they could do the same for the Gadgets if they wanted to.

Not only does the App store make that stuff easier (auto-installation), it can also recognize other purchases so you don't purchase the same thing twice if you own a full version, and it restricts the purchases to being in-app (avoiding confusion with other products on their own site), and things like refunds are Apple's problem when a buyer screws up.
I'm not saying it can't be done on Windows, I'm saying it creates many additional headaches Vs selling one full featured product, so I wouldn't think it likely. It also makes me wonder if you've actually used any of the stuff and appreciate just how cut-down much of it is. Compromises which make sense on smaller mobile devices, but maybe less so on desktop machines..
