So I did a round of updates the other day, and got all my u-he stuff up to date. For some reason, now if I drop NuVerb into an fx slot, the interface won’t show. I tried every other effect and tried NuVerb in every slot.

This is in cubase 8 64 bit, Bitwig, and Bidule running in windows 7 pro. All 64 bit vst 2 (which is the only version of the plugin I use).

Anybody else having this problem? Anything I could try on my end?

Thanks,
JJ

Sounds like this very recent installation path issue, the fix there will work:

Yup, either the data folder was installed in another location as the last time, and now the plugin is still accessing the old skin version.
Or you are using a third party skin which doesn't support the NuRev module.

I’ll give those a try. It’s weird though that the version I was using before showed NuVerb Fine, and sessions with sounds in them that use NuVerb still work. I just can’t ever see the NuVerb interface down at the bottom. It always stays on whatever effect was there before NuVerb got dropped in there. Anyway I’ll reinstall. Also I’m just using the default skin.

So the fold distortion won’t show up either. Can anyone show me where I can find all the files to delete to get ready for a reinstall.

First, remember to back up: 1) any non-factory presets, 2) your MIDI assignments (if you want to keep them), and 3) third-party/custom themes. Easiest way to find the folder is to open the Zebra2 browser, then right click a preset and do the "Show in Explorer" option. Custom Presets are usually in a "UserPresets" folder unless you put them somewhere else, MIDI Assignments and Themes are under the "zebra2.data\support" folder.

Now, after you back up what you need, just search for and delete any Zebra2-related plugin files (.dll's, au, whatever) as well as any folders called "zebra2.data" (there may be more than one).

After that, just install Zebra2 and restore your Presets, MIDI Assignments, and Themes and you should be good to go. Future updates will remember the locations and prevent things like this from happening again but this was just introduced, hence why you may have run into issues updating now.

I haven’t ever changed any of my folders. All the data folders are just in my plugin folder along with the dll files. It has always remembered where the old versions were. Where is the “user presets folder”? Is it just a sub folder of the data folder. I just have a big u-he folder with a bunch of data sub folders and dolls in it. Then I guess all the vst3 files are in the common files folder with all the rest.

There's also this handy support article which explains where to find all files:

https://u-he.com/support/faq.html#compa ... :uninstall

But make sure to search your hard drive for instances of the Zebra2.data folder, just in case you have multiple versions installed in different locations.

Cleared everyone out and reinstalled. All is well.

The multiple locations was what was causing my problems as it turns out. When I deleted the spares things worked fine. I went ahead and reinstalled anyway though just in case.
