They don't need to. Read the post by xRavenx I linked earlier. It's already copyrighted to them, with or without a copyright notice.

Personally I don't give a stuff, I'm just covering KVR's collective arse should Zildjian think differently :) There is an argument for both sides.

Music with dinner is an insult both to the cook and the violinist.

I'm not a lawyer, I'm not an employee. I just obviously live my life differently to you. I do not do something because "I can get away with it". In fact I don't even care about the legal side of things. I just see some samples I'd like to use, notice there is nothing about whether I can use them or not so try and contact the people who own them. I treat people in the same way I wish to be treated. I would be anoyed if people took pictures from my Web-sites to use on their products without asking.

I would not walk past a grocery store... see some apples, but no signs saying "don't take these apples"... notice that no ones around... so help myself to a few apples. So why should I do the same to an online web-site.

maybe I'm just terribly british and too polite, what what... ;)...

I've still not had a reply yet.

... So, does anyone have link to some decent cymbal wav samples then? This has whetted my appetite, and I'm too busy to mess around with MP3s :?

The drums that I currently use a mixture of...

the easy rider kit http://kingstondrums.bombsquad.org/

and

the Ns7. http://www.naturalstudio.co.uk/

Mainly use the cymbals from ns7 at the moment. :)

Look for the "Kingston drum set". Has some decent samples.

Or get NSkit or so... there should be reasonable cymbals in it as well.

Guys, a couple things to note here. First of all I know the people at Zildjian pretty well and trust me they do not intend for these low quality mp3's to be used as "samples". They are intended for percussionists who want to purchase cymbals and get an idea of what each model sounds like. Besides there is only one or two hits and they are MP3's for crying out loud!!!

Why not support the hard working developers like myself who spend lots of money and time to sample these instruments correctly (at 24 bit) and give you all the different playing styles that you want/need. We are all trying to hard to make a living and it seems that everyone wants access to samples like these but doesn't want/expect to have to pay anything for them. Remember we have families to support just like you.
