I hope this new NKS thing asks for plug ins to reveal or make accessible presets to the DAW, as I believe intends the VST standard, so as to change them from the DAW.
I have always missed that from u.he plug ins.

Hey Rod. Are you talking about this feature? ... from NI, Quote:
"It allows VST and KONTAKT instrument developers to integrate their plug-ins with KOMPLETE KONTROL and MASCHINE at the same deep level as KOMPLETE Instruments. This means that even instruments not built by NI can be fully integrated in the KOMPLETE KONTROL and MASCHINE browsers, with instrument parameters intelligently mapped straight out of the box. NKS instruments can access the Light Guide, Smart Play features, and the full creative potential of KOMPLETE KONTROL."

Not at all.
In fact I don't care much about NKS since I don't have their controllers but I expect that for NKS to work it would need some basic functionality from plug ins. One of those is "exponsing" presets to the DAW, what I mean by this is being able to change the Preset from the DAW "plug in window", not having to open the VST and its browser.
NI plugs ins and many other already do this, hope other jump on board.

Would be great if NI would create a controller for Komplete Kontrol without any keyboard keys. Like Kore was with only the knobs.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

We don't have exact dates yet, but we're onto it. We'll start with Diva this year, then Zebra, ACE, Bazille and Hive next year.nschmidt-dd wrote:

What it means is... you'll be able to control and browser our plug-ins just like you can any of the Komplete series ones.
There are many possibilities beyond that, many of which we yet have to explore.

Well, we still won't support the VST2 "bank" format, simply - but not only - because the other formats don't have a correspondence.rod_zero wrote:In fact I don't care much about NKS since I don't have their controllers but I expect that for NKS to work it would need some basic functionality from plug ins. We are however determined to improve ways to convert our h2p presets to various host-readable formats, and we're determined to add some form of tagging/meta data.

and with morphing - then they could call it Kore 3.

Could you give a status update on the NKS-compatibility, please? Here's hoping in particular for ZHZ and Bazille.Urs wrote:We don't have exact dates yet, but we're onto it. We'll start with Diva this year, then Zebra, ACE, Bazille and Hive next year.nschmidt-dd wrote:

Is it possible to batch convert the h2p presets to the NKS format? Or can Komplete Kontrol work with h2p presets also?
How can a preset be saved in NKS format? If I save it directly in Diva, it's always an h2p file and Komplete Kontrol doesn't detect it.

right click on the save button, change the default save format to NKS.
Next select all the presets in the folder by selecting the first, hold the shift key down and select the last.
right click on the selection and select, convert to NKS.
If it dont say, convert to NKS, go back to Step 1.

I'm considering migrating my preset browsing from DAW (Reaper) to Komplete Kontrol. Most of my favorite plugins are from NI or u-he, but not all of them.

no problem.
Just about all the u-he plugins now have full NKS pre-sets for official presets with preview sounds ready.
However, 3rd party presets may not and above is a quick way of converting them all to NKS however this may not bring tagging and sound previews. For that you will need to work a bit harder.
For full tagging, if they aren't already, you need to do each individually. As for sound previews the quickest way, I know at present is to use https://presetmagician.com/ however it’s been in beta for ages and I'm not sure it’s become abandon ware but might be worth the $25 just to ease the pain.
As for other resources. Try Jasons stuff at https://freelancesoundlabs.com/index.ph ... -vst-packs
and Amused/Kymeia has a dropbox of community stuff that can be accessed via the NI forum. https://www.native-instruments.com/foru ... ry.262959/
