One very sad long time Rush fan.

Just saw on Facebook. :(
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

Difficult to reply cause i grow with Rush Music...

I can't describe the sadness (even for the harsh life he had in losing his wife and daughter in a short time), Canada should proclaim national mourning and make him a monument because Rush were the first Canadian rockers to break through the borders and barriers geographic and musical... :(

Shit, been listening to his music for nearly forty year on and off, kind of tragic retiring to spend time with your family then this just a couple of years later.

Perhaps the greatest drummer of all time. R.I.P. and thanks for all the great music. :(

One of my all-time faves. I bought my first Rush album in '76. I think Neil had a unique perspective and approach to Drums/percussion and how they should be played in a heavy/prog rock band. La Villa Strangiato blew me away in '78, and still does.

RIP, Neil

Think I’ll play a few Rush albums over the next few days.

Sad news, but glad he’s at rest after a long period of fighting this - the results of brain cancer can be terrible for a family to witness.

RIP Neil. Even God will say, "Son, you rocked it hard and so very well."
We shall see orchestral machines with a thousand new sounds, with thousands of new euphonies, as opposed to the present day's simple sounds of strings, brass, and woodwinds. -- George Antheil, circa 1925 ---

So sad. Explains much. But still so sad. So young!
