MCharacter copy levels / paste levels question

Hi guys,

From my understanding of the copy / paste levels functions, I would have thought that if I did a "copy levels" from a sound followed by a "paste levels" to the same sound I would end up with minimal adjustments to the level graph, as the:

"Paste levels button pastes the harmonics from the system clipboard by first analyzing the harmonics of the currently processed sound and then setting up the levels so that the harmonics have the same levels as those from the clipboard".

This does happen from time to time, but most of the time I get vastly fluctuating results from this theoretical and admittedly useless procedure :-) . I suspect I might have misunderstood how this function is supposed to work, so if anyone cares to shed some light on this , I would be eternally grateful.
Cheers Al.

HI Al,

that's because MCharacter takes the measurement from the moment you actually press the copy button and then when pressing the paste button it does the same thing. So the actual timing matters a lot, way too much :). Some sort of averaging would certainly be possible, but development time is way too "nonexistent" for such a thing.
